A tour well worth the money - While in Cusco, we noticed the Open Bus Tour and inquired on booking it. The tour was very cost friendly for a 2-3 hour tour. It toured a sector of the city, while the bus tour guide explained a few of the locations of significant importance. The bus tour did make two stops, one at The White Christ, Protector of Cusco statue which overlooks the entire city of Cusco. And then at a little shopping area where you could buy souvenirs and take photos with alpacas. The bus tour was nice because it gave us an opportunity to see the city and get off of our feet. And the tour provided some pretty amazing panoramic views of the city. We really appreciated the guide’s patience in letting us take a lot of photos when we got off the bus and didn’t rush us to get back on too quick. Lastly at one point a man showed up and took our photos and by the end of the tour, they showed us the printed photos to sell us in a nice commemorative frame for a surprisingly cheap price. Overall, I definitely felt like I got more than I paid for. It was a great time.

Great tour to start your time in Cuzco! - The entire bus spoke Spanish, and even though I do a little bit, Victor took care of translating things for me in English, as well! He did a great tour, with a lot of history, and stops for photos. I especially loved the alpaca and llama petting! I did buy a scarf there, as to support the local economy. It started raining so on the way back, so all the participants were downstairs as opposed to the top of the bus, but we made it work! Thanks Victor and crew!

Very good service and guide. Ideal when you have little time. - We thought it was a very good option to get to know the city and its tourist attractions since we had little time and no mobility.

It was a good time. One... - It was a good time. One criticism though. The music is SOOOO loud at the top of the bus. It should be turned just a bit. All in all, I’d gladly recommend to everyone.

Late Arrival at Meeting Place - The tour guide AJ was great. Initially no one was at the meeting point listed on TripAdvisor and I had sent messages and waited for 15 minutes with no reply. I was *this* close to calling Viator/TripAdvisor for a refund when I called the operator directly and they said someone was coming. A lady arrived 5 minutes later and walked me to another area where they had coordinated various different groups to meet. It was a bit chaotic at first, but the tour turned out alright.

Scam to get Sol out of your pocket - The views were amazing. The rest of the tour was the tour guide allowing locals to board the bus to sell us products. Also the sound system was awful and you couldn't understand one word from the tour guide. Wouldn't recommend.

Interesting 2.5 hour trip but issues - Bus ride ok. Long wait and walk to get the bus whilst ell the freelancers organised their commission. Old bus seats soaking wet. Poor communication system Sites and trip was interesting. Compulsory stop for purchasing Peruvian jumpers etc. interesting ritual performed in Peruvian family back garden Think we are all baptised as inks now Purchased in Viator 15us

Lots of room for improvement - First, the good. The price was right for this tour. The views were amazing from the upper deck. However, the execution was really bad. There are lots of little things they could do to improve this tour. Here is my constructive criticism: 1) the PA system in the bus is really weak and garbled (two things you don’t want in a PA system). You can’t really hear the narration when you are on the top deck. Everyone was on the top deck, because that is the only way you can see the sights. We had no idea what we were seeing or the descriptions of each. The reverb is set super high, and the speakers/PA are too weak to reach the deck. They have no speaker on the deck, even though that’s where everyone sits. 2) the shaman ceremony was a disaster. First, the tour guide did not adequately describe what the Shaman was doing. He also didn’t really describe the significance of the ceremony or what it was for. It would have been far better if the guide described that information in detail. We didn’t know what the Shaman was doing, what it meant or anything. I am sure it had a great deal of significance, but with no context it was just weird and random. Also, the guide should have explained to participants the solemn nature of the ceremony. Because participants had no idea what was going on or the significance, they acted foolish - dancing around, gyrating and generally making fun of the Shaman. The Shaman was rightfully and visibly upset by all of this nonsense. This was very offensive as it disrespected this man’s religion. First, the participants should not have acted like that. It was disrespectful. However, if the guide would have explained the process ahead of time and stressed how solemn of a process this was and to not make fun on it, this cultural error could have been avoided. I am sure the company will reply to this review that the Shaman understands that tourists will act foolish, however, it is the responsibility of the guide to adequately explain everything and proactively try to prevent such things. 3) the guide spoke broken English, at best. The descriptions were supposed to be in Spanish and English. You couldn’t effectively understand the guide when he was speaking English. Even when we were off the bus and he didn’t have the messed up speaker system, you could not understand what he was saying. This took away greatly from the tour. With a few changes, this would be a 5 star tour. Sadly, it is not. Nowhere near.

Little taste... - The bus is good, but the audio is very bad. We sat upstairs, and between the noise of the street, the wind and the bustle of the other passengers, the explanations could not be heard. So we never knew what we were seeing, a shame. You see very little of the city of Cusco, the tour focuses on the outskirts of the city. It makes two stops, the first at a souvenir shop, where you go to its patio for the Coca ceremony with a shaman (you may like it or not), and it ends with a stop at the Cristo Blanco with views from the city. He left us with a taste for very little...
