Amazing day with a fantastic guide! - The day itself, although long, was excellent! We were collected from our hotel at 4am, driven to Ollantaytambo and where we caught our train. Our guides at cosmo expeditions helped to upgrade our train tickets for the outward journey for the 360 panoramic train, which was a great journey - so spacious, complimentary refreshments and most importantly, incredible views!!
Once we arrived at Aguas Calientes, the journey to the top of the Machu Picchu was so smooth and well organised; we were met by someone who guided us to the buses, which run very efficiently.
At the top, we met our excellent guide Cesar and then embarked on a 2 hr tour of the site, pleasantly surprised that it was just the two of us. I hadn’t quite understood it was a private tour and was happy to find that out! Cesar was so informative, knowledgable about the entire site and we had a great time! The site was incredible and as we were there around 10am, it wasn’t too busy!
It’s an easy route, and the views are so amazing. We had amazing, clear weather!
Post tour, we were guided back to the buses, and then had time in Aguas Calientes to have lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then a driver back to Cusco.
Other than it being a very long day, it was absolutely excellent! We loved it!

Machu Picchu collapsed. They solved us how it gave rise. - We didn’t buy tour or tickets in advance (we didn’t know it filled up so much).
This tour was the only one where we found a place, so even if it was more expensive than the others, we took the option.
We bought them on a Tuesday and on Thursday, while in Peru, the operator called us to tell us that the tickets were sold out months ago (it made sense to me because I had not found tickets anywhere else). That it had surely been a system error but that it could reimburse us 100%.
We didn’t want to and, since we only had a few days in Peru, he was looking for solutions the whole time.
While it is true that every day we wrote and/or talked and we were all resolving, he worried about getting Machu Picchu into the way he gave way.
And, in the end, after many experiences, we did get to know each other.
We failed one of the contacts already in the nearby town, Aguascalientes, and they got us another.
We paid for some truck tickets and were refunded, despite no longer being in Peru.
In the end we went another day, we had to go a day earlier to the village because Machu Picchu was collapsed tourists and and there were no tickets, but they worried about solving us how it gave rise and getting us in.

A Truly Seamless and Memorable Machu Picchu Experience - A business colleague and I were in Lima for work and decided to make the most of our trip by visiting one of the world’s most iconic wonders, Machu Picchu. With limited time and little hope due to the high demand for tickets, we reached out on short notice. While many other providers told us it was impossible, this team from Cosmo Expeditions came through and exceeded our every expectation.
The entire experience was meticulously organized, with communication handled clearly and promptly via WhatsApp. Our journey began in Cusco, where we were picked up at 4:30 AM by a friendly driver for a scenic two-hour drive to Ollantaytambo, the charming town with the train station. Along the way, our driver even stopped to show us some fascinating Incan relics, which added a special historical touch before we boarded the train.
We traveled on the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes, and upon arrival, we were greeted by a cheerful representative who provided us with our tickets, local information, and a warm welcome.
We met our exceptional tour guide, Cesar, who led us to the buses and accompanied us up the winding road to Machu Picchu. His knowledge of the site’s history, culture, and architecture made the visit incredibly enriching. He was patient, insightful, and made sure we had ample time to take in the views and capture unforgettable photos. After the guided tour, he gave us helpful tips on how to explore more and navigate our way back.
We returned via Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo, where another driver was waiting to take us directly back to our hotel in Cusco. From start to finish, it truly was a flawless hotel-to-hotel experience.
What stood out most was the level of care and professionalism, every detail was managed perfectly. The communication, courtesy, and guidance made this an unforgettable and stress-free adventure. Thank you for making our dream of seeing Machu Picchu not only possible but exceptional. Thank you!

Heroic effort to get into Machu Picchu - For context: I booked a trip to Peru without knowing that one needs to buy a separate, government pass for Machu Picchu, months in advance. With just 2-3 days before my trip, I decided to book a tour of Machu Picchu, which is how I found this tour.
After booking thru TripAdvisor, Dennis reached out to me and explained the reality of the situation: That passes had been sold out for some time, but there was another last-minute way to get tickets by going to the Tourism Office in Aguas Calientes the day before my desired visit Machu Picchu. This tour group would book my taxi pickup from the hotel, train to Aguas Calientes, and help me get a last minute ticket from that Tourism Office. I did some Google/ChatGPT research and Dennis's plan checked out, so I went with it. There weren't any other options due to my lack of planning.
Long story short, it was chaotic and intense -- in part because it was Spring Break and Easter/Holy Week, and there were many more visitors trying to get tickets than usual -- but in the end Dennis and Cesar got me my ticket for Machu Picchu, for the day that we'd scheduled, and I was back home on the train that we'd originally scheduled. This tour group delivered on everything they said they would.
You're better off getting tickets for Machu Picchu the "right way" -- by booking six months in advance -- but if you need last minute tickets, these guys can deliver.

Machu Picchu best tour especially if you’re late to getting your tickets - DO NOT be discouraged by the limited number of reviews! Dennis and the team were absolutely amazing. I had booked two other tours with large agencies and both cancelled on me after about a week since there were not any tickets available to Machu Picchu. I spoke to Dennis and he was determined to get us our tickets. He was able to get us tickets 6 days before our tour date when they had been sold out for months! He also got us the best circuit (#2) and it was a very small tour with only 4 people including us. It felt like a private tour vs the 20+ people tours we saw while there. Do yourself a favor and book this tour!!

Amazing views, everything was beautiful. Well worth it. - Machu Picchu was beautiful, as was Aguas Calientes and the surrounding valley. Train/bus rides were nice. They could be a little more transparent about their process though. You book it thinking it’s a day trip, then they message you afterwards and tell you it’s a two day trip, and you need to stay a night in Aguas Calientes to purchase your ticket the day before your Machu Picchu tour. This was fine for me, but could be an issue for others, and would’ve been nice to know beforehand. The company was responsive though and did a great job of making things right when there were issues. Highly recommended, just need to change the title from “day trip” to “Two day trip with overnight in Aguas Calientes”.

Worst tour you could possibly get - The whole thing was a scam designed to milk money out of tourists. He advertised hotel pick up then told us to walk to a bus station 30 minutes away at 3am 30 minutes before the bus leaves.
He advertised that he had tickets when he didn't, then when he had finally bought tickets we had agreed on circuit 2 tickets and he bought circuit 1 tickets then when we complained said we were ungrateful because these were more expensive tickets.
Didn't tell me the name of the tour guide until 2 hours after I had already found him by asking random people at the train station.
Everything from beginning to end was badly organised or a straight out lie designed to steal your money. 0/10 do not buy this tour
