Absolutely Incredible! - It was PARAISO, paradise, incredible, and as I learned from our most wonderful, kind guide Axell, AKA CHIETTI. I am sure the spelling of this is completely wrong, but it means just all things great, encompassing the ethos of la "Pura Vida" that is truly in the heart of all Costa Ricans. This was such a wonderful tour that began with river tubing which was exhilarating. I was comforted having wonderful guides directing us down the river, making sure we were all ok, while braving rapids (so fun!) laughing, chatting. The cherry on top was the cutest sweetest team dog, Puma, who followed us through woods and water all the way to our final destination. The fun did not end there! We then did the waterfall hike which was simply out of this world! A must-do, absolutely. Again with Axell, we chatted, we laughed and we learned, all the while walking, swimming, jumping and wading in the beautiful waters of Rio Blanco. Swimming into the waterfall, was magical. Beyond expectations, I cannot recommend this enough.

Wonderful tour from start to finish! - We scheduled an 8am hike and had SUCH a good time. Definitely recommend going early because by the time we headed out (10am), there were SO MANY groups headed up, it was crazy! From the rugged transport in the back of the truck (as adrenaline deprived Americans, we loved it), to the jump into the river and the hardcore final pull up to the waterfall, we had a blast! Our kids did great - 14 & 10. Loved and highly recommend!

You will get wet - Very fun and at sometimes challenging hike. February waterfall chasing was great. The water was high enough to enjoy a little extra fun and challenge on the lines and metal rock steps. We went with Douglas and he was a great guide, Pura Vida attitude with a confident presence when you needed help in the water, through the caves, on the ladders, or in the water.

My wife going solo had a great time and thanked me for having her go! - Due to my having some mobility issues, my wife went as a solo on this. To book a solo person we had to contact them directly but they were extremely helpful. My wife had a great time and came back saying it was well worth in and thanking me for having her do it. While waiting the La Leona team were quite nice having some shaded picnic benches, snack and water I could purchase and even offered of rme to use their Wifi. The people I saw come in after their tours all seemed quite happy as well. My wife did say that their warning about having tight fitting clothing is valid as the current is strong and if you are not careful to keep upright loose clothing could be a problem.
