Highlights

Group bike tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. every day (private tours can start at any time). This four-hour \n\nexploration of central Bogota starts out with a visit to the historical center, including passing by colonial \n\nchurches and the Botero and Gold museums, as well as a visit to the nation’s main square, Plaza Bolivar.\n\nFrom there, we’ll ride north to a fruit market and taste from Colombia’s huge variety of exotic, tropical fruits, \n\nand then walk across the street for a game of tejo, Colombia’s national sport.\n\nAfter that, we’ll ride up Carrera Septima, past Independence Park, the Bullfighting Stadium, the National Museum \n\nand through the La Merced neighborhood, which feels like a bit of London with its English architecture. From there, \n\nwe enter the National Park to try fruit salads, juices, corn-on-the-cob and grilled meats. \n\nOur stomachs filled, we ride west through the quiet and elegant Teusaquillo neighborhood to Calle 26, where we’ll \n\nadmire some of Bogota’s largest street murals. After photographing a sculpture by Colombia Fernando Botero, we ride \n\npast the Memorial Center, dedicated to documenting human rights violations, and stop in a small coffee roaster. \n\nHere, we see how Colombia’s world-famous arabica beans are selected and roasted for export. Then we’ll enjoy a \n\nfresh brew of those delectable beans. \n\nFinally, we’ll ride back to our starting point in La Candelaria, finishing off with one of the few uphills on this \n\nmostly-flat ride. The whole route covers about 12 kms.\n\nPoints of Interest\n\n- Cra. 3 #12-42

A five-star experience - This bike tour was a highlight of my time in Bogota. Daniel is an excellent guide and the tour was very well paced, with frequent and informative stops that covered everything from graffiti to the encampment in a local park. We spent time at a fruit market trying about 10 fruits, many of them unfamiliar. We also stopped for coffee at a shop that does their own roasting. Daniel explained the different grades of coffee and showed us samples. Most of us bought some of their coffee in beautiful 12 oz packages; it was an excellent value. I took this tour during Holy Week and the streets were crowded with people celebrating Easter by visiting multiple churches. The atmosphere in Bogota was festive, which added to the fun. I was the oldest participant; the staff member (oops … name forgotten … who was also the bike mechanic) was very attentive and checked in with me often. The altitude is extreme! He carried our coffee purchases and made sure everyone had a bike that was adjusted to their height etc. Daniel is very knowledgeable and it was clear that he genuinely wanted all of us to have a good experience. Likewise, the 2nd staff member/mechanic did a great job in a supporting role. Please tip generously if you can, since that’s the main source of income for the guides.

This tour is A MUST in Bogota - Daniel and Luisca (hope I spelled their names correctly) were an absolute delight to travel with. Luisca was our technical support and assisted with any bike issues along the way. Daniel was the tour leader and was so passionate, energetic, and charismatic. He explained everything well, answered questions that people had, and made the tour super enjoyable. I loved all the stops, from the fruit market to the chocolate shop, English universities, and the coffee shop.

Best way to get to know Bogota - We reached out to Bogota Bike Tour super last minute and they were able to organize a private tour within a couple hours, with an English translator. The tour went above and beyond our expectations. We were able to see so much that we wouldn’t have been able to see on our own, within one tour. It was super affordable and accommodating. Would reach back out to Bogota Bike Tour again on a future trip.

A great way explore Bogota! - A great introduction to Bogota. Mike our guide and Fabio our support rider were amazing. We found the tour left us with a much greater understanding of the all aspects of the city whilst still checking out the major sites. Would highly recommended!

A ‘must-do’ in Bogotá - It can be difficult to sift through all the tour options for a city, so many companies and options. Endless polarising reviews. So hopefully this will help many - this was the highlight of our time in Bogotá, and probably the best tour we’ve ever been on. Mike was knowledgeable and way surpassed our expectations for this activity. Multiple food stops, graffiti art both viewing and an option to make your own and finishing with the traditional Colombian throwing game Tejo. It felt all encompassing and safe, enabling us to see more of the city and culture. Just brilliant.

Terrific family experience on bikes in Bogota - Amazing bike tour for our family of five around Bogota. Mike was a knowledgeable and fun guide who made this into a great introduction to this complex and dynamic city. We covered a lot of ground while never seeming rushed, learned a lot about the history of the city and the nation, came out with a long list of places to visit in both the city and around Colombia. The only problem — we have to come again to do even a fraction of the things we want to do that Mike recommended. We have done bike tours in lots of US and European cities. This one was really good. Bikes were fine, helmets provided. We saw a lot of things, both historical and political. A lot of focus on the important and beautiful graffiti. Experienced mechanic traveled with us because the roads weren’t perfect, but we were really impressed with the Bogota bike lanes. It’s easier than biking in DC. Drivers were friendly and accommodating. It felt safe for our fourteen year old. Really great experience.
