Begin your day with a trip to the Ethnology Museum. Despite being one of the newest, it’s arguably the largest and most engaging museum in both Hanoi and Vietnam as a whole. The Museum’s existence signified a recognition of Vietnam’s multi-ethnicity and an increased need for promoting socio-cultural diversity. Lunch will be served at Bun Cha Huong Lien, a popular Bun Cha place in Hanoi which gained significant fame following a visit by US President Barack Obama and Anthony Bourdain. Post lunch, proceed to the Temple of Literature, constructed in 1076. This temple housed Vietnam’s first university which was founded to teach the country’s royal class, bureaucrats and the elite. The university remained operational for 700 years and its gardens along with immaculately preserved architecture provide an intriguing peek into Vietnam’s history. Following this, a visit to the Ngoc Son Temple located at Hoan Kiem Lake is planned. Wrap up the day with a CYCLO tour, offering a firsthand glimpse of French architecture manifested in Vietnamese buildings and 36 streets.
