Chocolate Making Class - We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Everything was just as it was advertised. The tour was so much information on chocolate. We learned a lot. Dani our guide went way above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He was the sweetest guide and always kept me updated a few days before our arrival . We arrived by cruise ship and he sent directions for every step of the way from getting off of the ship to meet him . One of the best guides that we have ever had. Enjoyed our time so much !! Our chocolate bar that we made was delicious. Great atmosphere in the factory and in the shop below.

Don’t miss this experience - Dani was great. This was a bean to bar chocolate class as he said. I have taken a chocolate class in the states but never saw the cacao pod to bean to cocoa to chocolate bar before. We were even able to taste the pre dried fermented bean casing. It was a great experience for a family of 5 , kids 10 & 12, parents and grandmother. Dani also helped us set up a monkey, sloth excursion for the limited time we had the next day before our flight fantastic!

Terrific tour guide and hands-on experience - Dani gave such an interesting and informative presentation on the historical, environmental, and economic aspects of cacao and chocolate and then the processes for making chocolate, I almost forgot we were making some to take home! The hands-on part of the class was perfect--it gave a real appreciation of how the process of creating consumable chocolate has evolved over the ages and gave us something to share when we got home. It was really nice having an excursion where you are creating something and not just looking and taking pics. What a great idea and execution!!

Chocolate Making Class - If you ever visit Roatan and want to contribute to the local economy and have fun, visit The Roatan Chocolate Factory and book a Chocolate making class. Daniel was our teacher, very knowledgeable and does maintain great communication which put us at ease. We had a hands on class where he explained the history of chocolate on Mayan culture, the importance of chocolate on Roatan economy and made us conscious on trying to get your chocolate from ethical sources as it does involve human trafficking. We made chocolate from scratch and got to make our own chocolate bar to take home with us. It is fun, local, artisan, organic, cultural, educational, healthy and delicious. Definitely the highlight of this trip! 😍🥰 What else you need besides chocolate? ❤🍫😚

Fun, hands-on, chocolate souvenir - We took the chocolate making class with Dani. It was a 2-2.5 hr course where we learned about how chocolate gets made and some Honduran/Roatan history. The class was then hands on. I was so happy to crack my own cacao beans, grind them, mix in sugar, temper the chocolate , and pour it to then freeze and then package. Dani was great at keeping the class moving and keeping all 6 participants involved. He also managed English and Spanish fluently which to my bilingual self was impressive. Dani was friendly and excited/knowledgeable about his craft. And it was an all around fun way to spend a couple hours in the island. I would not pass on a chance to take the class! And of course you get to take your chocolate home with you!

Making Chocolate and Cuddling Sloths - Great Combination ! - I wish that Booking and the experiences of all Private Excursions could be as easy and fun as this day in Roatan was for my Wife and me. Dani is the Owner and Operator of The Roatan Chocolate Factory and Roatan Tour Guide Association. A native of the country, he was educated in the US and his English is impeccable. By contacting him directly thru the website, he was very responsive and flexible in customizing the Tour. Our Oceania Vista ship could dock at Coxen Hole or Mahogany Bay and Dani followed specifics and provided detailed directions for meeting him just outside the Port at the agreed upon time and place. He drove us to the Factory and led us step by step to learn about chocolate and making it hands-on. He supports Local suppliers of ingredients and the environment on the Island. After the Class, we had wanted to interact with Monkeys, Sloths and Exotic Birds and he drove us to Boddens - one of the places for that. He then drove us back to the ship altho we could have chosen other activities or local lunch. All transportation and Admissions were included in the competitive price he quoted. Dani is a very affable entrepreneur that will custom tailor a day in Roatan and assure your satisfaction. Oh yes, the chocolate we made from scratch is excellent !
