to the semi sub glass bottom boat excursion is a great way to see the beautiful marine life and coral reefs (part of the second largest barrier reef system in the World) without getting wet! Your sub is a 28-maximum passenger “semi-submersible” glass bottom boat vessel. It never dives below the water line; it floats on the surface while you view out the large windows just 6 feet below the water level which makes it a great excursion for non-snorkelers and of course snorkelers!

Your fun exploration begins just outside your Roatan cruise terminal (Coxen Hole and Port of Roatan Mahogany Bay) where the friendly semi-submarine shore excursion staff will be waiting for you. They will get you all checked and into your transportation. The drive to the West End pier where the semi sub is located is just a short distance from the cruise terminal. You will get to pass some scenic sights along the way.

The semi-sub glass bottom boat crew help you aboard under the shaded topside. As the vessel moves out from the shore on the way to the barrier coral reefs of West End, they will help you down the 8 stairs into the interior where you will find large glass viewing windows along each side and seats down the middle. The crew will take you along the reefs where you can view all of the colorful, tropical marine life darting among the coral reef. The underwater scenery is never the same and the view is continuously changing out each window. There is a variety of marine life to see from colorful fish to coral to sponges.

The guests will be out on the water for approximately 35 minutes. At the end of the semi-submarine glass bottom boat part of this excursion, the semi-sub will motor back to the pier where the transportation will take guests back to your ship’s cruise terminal

The glass bottom boat was amazing!!!! - We are a family of three, myself, my husband and our 11 year old. We thought this was a great experience. We were not on one of the cruise ships so the guide came and got us from our rental. Our guide was excellent. Always wanting to make sure we had what we needed and if there was anything else he could help with. He knew to take us to the chocolate and rum factory first before they got over crowded. The glass bottom was like a sub you get to see the coral reef very cool. Then once that is over you move on to see animals. Great overall experience.

Didn’t get what we paid for. - They never bothered to take us to The Sloth & Monkey Encounter, We each paid $69.00 for the Glass Bottom Boat, & Monkey Encounter. If we just wanted to do the Glass Bottom Boat, the excursion would have just costed each of us $39.00 compared to what we paid, I contacted the company, but they never bothered to respond back to me. The Glass Bottom Boat was worth doing, but we were looking forward to the next part of our Excursion which never happened, he took us to the Chocolate Factory, which didn’t interest any of us, & then right back to the Cruise Port, When we asked why he didn’t take us to the Sloth Encounter he said it wasn’t included in the tour, when I returned home, I went & looked it up again, & yes it states it was Definitely included in the Price we paid.
