Excellent sunset whale tour in Parksville location - While it does not seem obvious, this company has 2 locations on Vancouver Island: Cowichan Bay and Parksville. My family of 5 took the Sunset Whale Watching tour out of the Parksville location. My 3 kids (14, 12, 10) first did not really think much of it, mostly because we did not really explain to them that this was a whale watching tour in case we didn't see any whales and they would be disappointed. I guess we were lucky as barely 10 minutes in we spotted 2 humpbacks. One of them was rather playful and was flapping his flippers around a lot, creating loud splashing sounds. The biggest surprise came at one point, during a quiet moment, when one of them actually jumped out of the water and we saw almost the entire body. Of course this happened so fast and unexpected that we didn't get a picture of it, but just witnessing this giant whale jumping relatively close to us was the highlight of the tour. My kids admitted this was better than they had expected. The last part of the tour we rode up close to some rocks with lots of birds and seals, but to be honest, I don't remember too much of that after witnessing a jumping humpback whale. Nothing could really top that experience, as brief as it was. Our captain was awesome and informative and we learned a lot from her. Every whale watching tour is different and unpredictable, so experiences will differ. If you are staying in Parksville, BC, then certainly you should book a tour with this company.

Fantastic Experience - Our captain was amazing! His enthusiasm was infectious! We saw two families of orcas, and even got to watch the second family hunt and feed. Loved seeing all the seals too! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get out and see the ocean animals and the beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding islands

There are no words... - Wow. What an experience. Taz was our captain and her passion for whales was evident. Fantastic at explaining everything and an expert boat captain! The zodiac was cutting through the water like butter. We were hoping to see a glimpse of a whale and hopefully some seals. Well, we started off seeing a bunch of seals and their babies (fat little cuties) and a colony of Cormorants. Then we got word of some whales and we headed off to find them. Boy, did we find them! There were three families of whales hanging out together and they were definitely having a party. More and more just kept showing up! Then we happened by some sea lions (apparently not typically in the area right now) who were obliviously hanging out, relaxing, unaware of the 18+ Orcas heading their way. Orcas got to the lions, yadda yadda Orcas 1 Lions 0...what a show of nature! Richard Attenborough was in my head the whole time. You could see that the whales were celebrating - slapping their tails, breaching, wow - we were speechless. I can't describe how incredible this whole experience was. Taz even put a microphone in the water so we could hear them communicate. Wow! Beautiful sunset on the way back on the right, full orange moon on the left - we live in the best place on earth. Thank you Taz for an experience that none of us will ever forget.

Sunset Whale Tour - My sister and I took this tour at the end of August and had a great time! We were lucky and got to see the whales hunting, so they came out of the water a ton! Taz was our captain and she knew a lot about the whales and was just as excited to see them as the group, which made it more enjoyable! I would recommend anyone going to bring binoculars for a better view.

Amazing experience - Captain Simon took us out quite a distance to see a family of killer whales! We stayed and enjoyed these magical creatures until the last moment and arrived back at the bay right at dark. I can’t explain how much I loved this tour and how knowledgeable the captain was, he is passionate about his work, and marine life

Excellent! - Captain Shaun took us out for a brilliant trip to see the Orcas around Cowichan Bay. All the staff and our captain were extremely personable, friendly, and incredibly informative the whole time - and riding in the Zodiac is pretty fun. We got the chance to see a pod of Killer Whales, some humpbacks, and our captain showed us around the local islands including some of the other wildlife - including a great sight of some seals. Would really recommend to anyone.
