Highlights
  • Tullycross Church - This itinerant Irish theater troupe stages one of seven distinct ‘plays-for-voices’. Each play delves into a pivotal event in Irish history, vividly reviving the past. Synge’s Aran Islands transports viewers to the heart of island existence. The performance about the Great Famine, titled Hunger, employs historical records to dramatically convey the silent and harrowing aspect of our heritage. Emigration Road delves into the massive exodus of Irish people to America. In Ferry, a quintet of characters, portrayed by a duo of voices, share snippets of their past lives, weaving a reflective tapestry on existence, mortality, and recollection. The Muse & Mister Yeats sequentially introduces the women who were romantically entwined with W.B. Yeats. Utilizing just a pair of actors (enacting numerous characters), minimal props, and restrained stage action, these theatrical works offer a direct and profoundly personal auditory experience.
