Additional Information

Born and raised in Wicklow, I have a profound passion for my county’s rich cultural heritage. I’m a classically trained opera vocalist and a practitioner of traditional Irish music. This journey entails discovering Wicklow’s history through the melodies that tell tales… from territories gained through deceit, brutality, and cunning, to the countless individuals deported for minor infringements to construct the Australian colony, the severe impact of famine, displacements, landlords exploiting the famine to displace undesirable tenants and ‘balance’ their estates. I have organized Musical History events at Kilruddery House and Wicklow Jail and have put together Living Dublin 1916 for RTE, encompassing classical, choral, and traditional Irish music. I’m eagerly anticipating guiding you on a musical history excursion filled with songs and narratives at Wicklow’s most remarkable picturesque sites.
