Great tours provided by Pasion Costa Rica - The tours provided by Pasion Costa Rica were fantastic! Marcos was our guide for both a morning tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, and the Night Tour in an area near Monteverde. He is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and did a great job of both educating us and sharing his excitement about the plant, animal and insect life of the cloud forest. We were a group of 11, including 9 undergraduate college students on their first trip to Costa Rica. Marco made the tour very engaging for all!

Best tour company in Monteverde - My family and I had a great experience with both Marcos and Susu straight from booking to the completion of the private night and day tours. It was very easy and convenient to book with Susu from WhatsApp. Marcos was awesome and so kind and patient with our children. He was so thorough and thoughtful with our tours, making sure we had the best experience possible even with the unpredictable nature of wildlife! We saw some amazing things and got the most detailed pictures with Marcos help and his telescope. I highly recommend this company for their professionalism and incredible quality of experience from start to finish.

Go no further—use this guide!!! - Marcos is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He worked very hard to find the animals we wanted to see, backtracking several times to locate priority sightings as birds moved and as other guides told of new sightings. He is obviously well received by other guides and they work together to locate animals, increasing your chances. He has a keen eye, knows the birdsongs, and can even imitate many to either demonstrate or call birds in. We were extremely pleased with the birds we saw. Beyond all of this, he is a very warm, friendly person who is a joy to be around, and he is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. He compiled a running list of species we saw and emailed us the list. Both the night walk and the bird walk were great. Although we went to Monteverde Cloud Forest for the bird walk, I’m sure he’d go other places, depending on your priorities. And stay at the comfortable Casita Meg, owned by his in-laws and where he lives next door.

Day and night combo was an amazing experience. - This was an excellent tour. Marcos first asked about our preferences as to where to hike. We wanted to go into the cloud forest for the first hike. He is extremely knowledgeable about the fauna and flora and carefully explains the symbiotic relationship between them and how the whole relationship is sustained. Afterwards we had a meal together, allowing us to ask questions about his and Susu’s life in Costa Rica. In the evening we went exploring insects on a night walk and saw a kinkaju and coate which can be rare to see. No promises for animal sightings. We were lucky, but I guarantee an interesting and exciting experience with Marcos.

Best Tour in Costa Rica. Highly recommended! - This was hands down the best tour I have experienced not just through Viator or in Costa Rica - but ever! Easy correspondence and excellent communication from both Susu and Marcos from the beginning. Good timekeeping and mindful flexibility with all plans. Marcos is hands down the most genuine, warm yet professional, and enthusiastic guide EVER. His natural enthusiasm and love for what he does is both charming and extremely infectious. When I booked this tour I didn't know quite what to expect. To be perfectly honest I had very little knowledge (and interest) in birds... I wanted to experience the cloud forest and see a lot of wild animals. Not only did that happen but I kid you not - within just a few hours I went from minimal interest to excitedly hearing bird calls and running this way and that (out of choice!) trying to spot the rarer species. The hiking was not demanding and Marcos is brilliant at accommodating for all abilities. When we finally found our elusive (yet majestic) bell bird even I couldn't stop smiling! It set me up for the rest of my trip around Costa Rica and I found this tour gave me unexpected skills (honestly - hearing calls and spotting anything camouflaged is a sheer talent) and a even deeper respect and love for the creatures around me. I saw butterflies, tarantulas, agoutis, vipers, baby hummingbirds being fed by their mothers, families of toucans, agoutis, porcupines, lizards and so many more... The night walk was AMAZING! Such an adventure - full of very cool, sometimes scarier, creatures that you would never see in the day. Marcos natural ease in this environment is evident from the start - which means lots of animal sightings and he can navigate the place in the pitch black (trust me - we tried) and so you can't help but feel exceptionally safe. Experiencing the jungle at night is exceptional. Marcos and Susu went above and beyond to make this experience special. The energy, kindness, communication, manner, and knowledge are second to none. Genuinely worth every penny -If you are considering booking, do it, I wholeheartedly recommend this trip - you will not regret it! I'm planning to be back soon with my family and some friends - and I will not be booking with anyone but Marcos and Susu. The food was also top-notch! Thank you so much for sharing your passion, knowledge, and a snippet of your beautiful lives with me, I couldn't recommend more genuine souls. I felt like I spent the day with family. very beautiful exploration of the cloud forest - fabulous day of immersion in the Monterverde cloud forest park; day + night our private guide Marcos, was brilliant, passionate and very cultured, we learned lots of things about the local fauna and flora, we were captivated by his information, we returned with very beautiful memories the night excursion was also great and ended this day in style

Awesome educational fun - Marcos is an incredibly informative and engaging guide with deep knowledge of the plants, animals and geography of the area. Susu is caring and generous, coordinating all the logistics and making sure to attend to every detail to ensure meals, transport, and tours are on point. We had an amazing time and enjoyed the night tour, the frog pond, the coffee/sugar cane/cacao tour, walking around town, the hot springs. Marcos even showed us howler and capuchin monkeys on the road in between! We saw a kinkajou, toucans, amazing millipedes, orange-kneed tarantulas, agoutis, an olingo, an armadillo, morpho butterflies, hummingbirds, porcupine, lizards, pit vipers, and other cool creatures. We had a wonderful time and Susu and Marcos helped us find great restaurants and good places to shop. The kids enjoyed a great time on the ziplines and horseback riding as well. We highly recommend Pasión Costa Rica and hope to be back!

A wonderful experience! - We write to express our gratitude to Marcos. He was a fantastic tour guide. We went on three tours with him - two separate day tours and one night tour. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable about Costa Rica wildlife and ecology and extremely adept at communicating that knowledge. He had our college aged children enthralled throughout all three tours. If English is your first language, then so much the better because he is fluent (that is not always the case with tour guides). His wife scheduled our tours and was lovely to work with as well. We cannot recommend Marcos highly enough and hope to see him in the United States when he visits! Thank you, Marcos!

Amazing experience - We went on a day and night tour with Felix, who was awesome. He was so passionate and made it feel like an exciting adventure. He pointed out a lot of different animals and plants and took beautiful pictures for us. Very knowledgeable and funny person. Would love to go on another tour with him again someday.
