- K-bar Caparica - In the two-hour surf lesson we teach the essence of surfing. The two main techniques that all surfers need to know: how to paddle and catch waves and how to stand on the board. This is the beginning of surfing and a lifestyle!
What to expect from one of our surf lessons:
- Security Summary
- Warm Up
- Instruction on the beach on how to paddle and put standing on the board (stand-up)
- Practice in the water according to the instructions given on the beach
- Comments on the water with the instructor

Get surfing guidance from Gecko Surf School! We equip you with all the essentials required for surfing. Every session commences with a brief on-shore teaching about the fundamentals of surfing and marine safety.
Following that, we proceed into the water for the remainder of your lesson. Our trainers are ready to have you surfing your initial wave swiftly!
Surf with other novices. If you enjoy mingling with new faces, this lesson is tailor-made for you.

Great surfschool - Very nice teachers and overall a great experience. The teachers took the time to make sure beginners got the attention they needed. Very nice people in general :)

Great experience! - I joined a group surf lesson with Gecko Surf School and had an amazing time! The staff were super friendly and helpful, our instructor had us all riding waves for the whole session. It was a very fun experience and I highly recommend Gecko Surf School to anyone interested in learning to surf!

Spectacular - Truly recommended, starting from scratch in two hours we learned the basics, the next day we rented the boards ourselves, very kind and flexible with the times 🤙

Surfing in group - Great team of instructors, fun, welcoming and professional. Had great first lessons of surfing in a group for 30eur. Did catch some waves even not being super athletic. And be ready to taste the ocean 😂 lots of it!
Beach is quite crowded though, so visit in times that are not peak beachy hours 😉

Best way to get started - Great introduction to surfing. Marco was patient, insightful and provided great tips for starting surfing. With their help I managed to surf quite a few waves and will surely go back for more.

Great instructors - Had a great time! Instructors explained everything and answered any question, helped surf right away.
Good vibes right off the bat meeting Pedro and Marco before the start of the lesson.

First time - We were absolute beginners ans the surf lesson was great. Marco is a super teacher and we had a lot of fun. Our whole family succeded to stand on the board. Also our 8 year old daughter. For her it was also a lot of fun and Marco cared a lot of her. Thanks for the lesson and the great time for our first surf experience.
