Very interesting trip through the volcanos of Tenerife - Just returned from a very pleasant 4 hour trip. Pick up close to the hotel, very comfortable minibus with a small group. The minibus can go to smaller villages which cant be accessed by larger coaches. Several stops to see villages, demonstration of how mountains were climbed in the old days, then up to the foot of Mount Teide. Ozzy is very knowledgeable and a very good guide, giving clear and interesting commentary during the whole trip. Thank you so much

Spectacular landscape and views with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. - The trip to the National Park was the highlight of our short stay in Tenerife. Ozzie, our guide, was very knowledgeable. He was relaxed and friendly and we were not under any time pressure. The small bus got us to locations where larger coaches would have difficulty accessing. I highly recommend visiting the National Park in a small group. The stop in the small village was also an enjoyable experience where we got to view the beautiful old church. This trip cost a little more than a coach but it's definitely worth it.

Great tour, recommended. - Excellent tour with Ozzy. He knew the roads and timings for the busy spots really well. Very informative and great fun. Definitely recommend this as a small minibus means you can go places coaches can't.

Switched out without full info - I booked this tour having seen many reviews lauding the small group size. On the morning we were due to take the tour, the guide (Ossi) contacted us to say that the local government had decided to restrict traffic to Teide by tour vehicles, and offered us a stargazing tour on Mt Teide instead. The tour guide did not inform us that this other tour would be with a much bigger group (c.50 people vs 8) or that most of the tour group would be having dinner at a restaurant where we were obliged to wait for an hour a third of the way up the mountain. We were not offered the option of paying to have dinner with the other travellers and the restaurant refused to make a meal for us (likely due to pre-orders), offering only a small selection of pre-prepared starters and sides (unlike the other visitors who got 3 course meals). The tour itself was, by contrast, excellently led by Ossi who is clearly enthusiastic about astronomy as well as Tenerife and Teide. The views were very beautiful. I think what the substitute tour offered is a reasonable programme, but I also think informing us the alternative would be with a group many times the size, who had prepaid for dinner, which we would not be getting and would have to wait for, were elements of unfortunate tourist hustling. If we’d been given this info ahead of time it would have enabled us to make a proper decision about whether to continue, instead of a third of the way up Mt Teide and being told we could take a taxi down if we didn’t like it.

Teide national park private tour - We are giving it 2 stars because it was not what we paid for. We paid a lot for a private tour and a memorable experience which did not deliver on its promise. The guide / driver was also guiding another tour group, which followed our car in another vehicle. As they were a sizeable group with many questions, he prioritised them over us. This has never happened to us before, and left us disappointed. Secondly, it was not a fully guided tour; we were given information in the car, some at drop-off points and left to walk around the sights by ourselves. Whilst the car itself and drive was fine, there was not even a courtesy bottle of water in it. Finally, the tour started 20 mins late with no response when we tried to contact them during this period, even though the start time was confirmed to us in writing 24 hrs prior. So essentially you are paying a huge price for a car, a generally informative and polite driver/guide, but NOT a private tour that’s feels exclusive or memorable.

We were deceived - The tour was interesting and informative. We really liked the guide, Ozzy, who was very cheerful, joked a lot, and explained everything in a very engaging way. We were also treated to delicious traditional food from the island of Tenerife. However, we have some serious questions for the organizers. The thing is, there are many Teide tours on Tripadvisor. Most of them are focused on sunsets and stargazing—which is, of course, interesting—but we specifically chose this tour because it included 9 stops in different parts of Teide National Park. We wanted to see the park itself in daylight and in a small group (8 people), exactly as stated in the description. According to Tripadvisor rules, customers can cancel a tour no later than 24 hours before it starts. However, these rules do not seem to apply to the organizers. Throughout the entire day before the tour, I contacted the organizers to clarify whether the tour would take place (since I could see that they hadn’t reached the minimum group size, and we could have booked with other organizers instead), but no one replied. Only later in the evening did I receive a WhatsApp message saying that the tour would take place. They also mentioned that in addition to the park, we would do stargazing with a telescope in the evening and advised us to dress warmly. You can imagine our disappointment when, instead of a group of 8 people, a bus for 30–40 people—almost completely full—picked us up. And instead of a proper tour of the park, we only saw one small part of it at sunset (although it was very beautiful), and then spent about two hours in freezing cold stargazing. I want to stress that Ozzy’s storytelling was engaging, but this was absolutely not the experience we had booked. The worst part is that we paid $77 per person for a Teide National Park tour, while the stargazing tour was cheaper and cost $48, yet no refund was offered. I consider this to be a serious deception on the part of the organizers. This was our last day in Tenerife, and in the end, we never really got to see the park at all.

Huge disappointment - This tour was a huge disappointment and felt like a blatant money grab aimed at tourists. What we actually paid for was an extremely overpriced transportation service rather than a guided experience. The price included a van and a driver who only spoke Spanish, while the guide was in a separate car and met us briefly at each stop. His explanations amounted to little more than pointing things out — “this is the volcano,” “this is the viewpoint,” “this is the coffee shop” — before telling us to explore on our own for a short, fixed amount of time. We gained almost no meaningful information. In fact, we learned more from the itinerary than from the guide himself. It was also very clear that his attention was mainly on two other tourists who appeared to be on a private tour in the other car, leaving us feeling overlooked and undervalued. Overall, this experience felt like a poor use of money and a major letdown. What should have been one of the highlights of our holiday turned into one of its weakest moments. I would strongly advise others to skip this tour and opt for public transport or a rental car instead — you’ll get far better value and likely a more rewarding experience.

Fraud - This experience felt like nothing more than an outrageously overpriced taxi ride designed to squeeze money out of tourists. The fee supposedly covered a “guided tour,” but in reality it only included a van and a driver who spoke no English. The actual guide wasn’t even in our vehicle — he followed in a separate car and would briefly meet us at each stop only to point and say things like, “this is the volcano,” “this is the tree,” or “this is the viewpoint,” before telling us to wander around on our own for 10 or 20 minutes. We learned more from the written itinerary than from the guide himself. It was painfully obvious that his attention was focused on two other tourists who were getting a private tour in the other car, while we were treated as an afterthought. This was a complete disappointment and a total waste of money. What was supposed to be one of the highlights of our entire holiday turned into one of its biggest letdowns. Save your money — you’ll be far better off taking a bus or renting a car and exploring on your own.
