Additional Information
Maintaining a half-century old tradition, the Bender family invites you on a 2-hour, small group exploration of the northern part of Corolla. We traverse the beach and sand dunes in our open-air safari vehicles, sharing interesting history and ecological facts along the journey. The expedition includes multiple stops for photo opportunities and points of interest, and exclusive access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. A well-versed horse guide joins the tour to help you better understand what you see. Select from one of three departure slots when making your reservation.
At present, we only permit full capacity if all members belong to a single family or group living in the same rental property. Otherwise, the maximum limit is set at TWELVE (12) individuals.
Please get in touch with us directly if your party exceeds 12 people so that we can arrange accommodations.
Kindly note that we cannot accommodate children WEIGHING LESS THAN 40 POUNDS on this tour.
- Please read all of this carefully. We cannot accomodate kids under five years of age or 40 pounds, if you do not read this and you arrive with kids that don’t meet these requirements, we will be forced to tell you that they can not come and as parents ourselves, this breaks our hearts. Please read all instructions.
- We are not responsible if you get stuck in traffic. Being stuck in traffic does not warrant a refund. Traffic is common. Please allow time to arrive 30 minutes prior to the time of your tour.
- No children under 40 pounds can come on the tour whatsoever.
- Adult pricing applies to all travelers 13 years of age and older.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Dress code is casual.
- Dogs have been asked to not be brought on tour by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Registered Service Animals only.
- Any changes or amendments to bookings, including number of persons, date, time, or discounts must be made through Viator. Corolla outback adventures cannot amend reservations without a request from traveler made to Viator.

Worth it! - Exciting seeing wild horses eating grass in peoples yards. A must do experience. Saw several horses walking around eating grass.

Highly recommend!!! - The tour was a blast! It was kind of like an educational tour with a side of amusement park ride. We saw quite a few horses and learned a lot about their history and the conservation efforts to maintain the herd. I would highly recommend taking the tour!

Great tour - We had an extraordinary experience !
Our guide Edna was very informative and answered all questions in detail. We would do it again tomorrow. We saw a number of horses and learned a lot.

Must do tour! - Edna was an amazing guide! Shared history and drove around until we saw horses at several stops. It was a cold day and we weren’t dressed for it but the experience was worth the shivering.

I have wanted to visit... - I have wanted to visit North Carolina and see the State.. Wild ponies on the beach was the highlight of my OBX experience.

Fun family day - What a neat experience, driving on the beach - amazing how much traffic there was! Got to see several horses - glad our driver Kurt knew where to find the horses. It was chilly and he offered up blankets. Very helpful.

Would do it again. - Great tour guide, had great information to share. The blankets were appreciated and we would have been miserable without them. Mother nature was the obstacle in making this an incredible tour.

Disappointing - It was a big disappointment. We saw so few horses, 3 maybe 4 during the entire trip. Wasn’t what I expected at all. The weather was not optimal, beyond anyone’s control.
