WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO LEARN?
Beginning with safety instructions and the basics of kayaking at our activity base near Towan beach, we can conveniently be reached with just a 5-minute stroll from Towan headland.
Kayaking provides a unique angle to marvel at this glorious strip of coastline. You’ll row along the coast discovering hidden bays out of sight from the overhead paths!
ARE WE LIKELY TO SPOT ANY FAUNA?
The Gazzle’s profound caves, once the hideouts for pirates and smugglers, are now layered with rich historical significance in addition to being home to diverse local wildlife of various types and sizes. Friendly seals might even surface to greet you as you row along!

Jakes 30th - We ended up kayaking in the estuary instead of the sea as the weather took a turn for the worse, Sean (the manager) was on this days in advance to arrange this for us as we’d originally booked in august, his communications and hospitality throughout the whole weekend of activities we booked was fantastic, thank you! Alex is who took us out on the water! He was great fun, helpful and encouraging, he clearly enjoys what he does! The kayaking was equal parts relaxing, challenging and hilarious and it was a great way to end our winter weekend in Newquay and just incase anyones wondering the wetsuits gloves and boots in all activities really make them doable even at this time of year! Don’t let the fact it’s winter put you off!

Amazing - Nice trip. Jacob, the instructor was very knowledgeable about the history of Newquay. With his l good storytelling skills we spent lovely trip exploring the area while kayaking.

Sea Kayaking - We had a great time kayaking with Alex in and around all of the hidden caves and coves. He made us feel very at ease and made the trip fun and interesting. Highly recommended. Thank-you Alex!

Great Kayak trip - Had a great Kayak Tour with James. Was out for 2 hours and showed me lots of the Newquay coastline. Did some cave exploring, rock hopping etc. Very informative an fun. Would highly reccomend.

Fantastic experience with welcoming and friendly people - My daughter and I took this tour last week and it was an amazing experience. The team at Newquay Activity Centre were so friendly and welcoming. Our insturctor (Amy) was great and shared her enthusiasm and knowledge for the area and the environment we were in. She showed us loads of sealife and historic features throughout the tour. Seeing seals in the wild was a real highlight and exploring smugglers caves.
Most on our tour were completely new to Kayaking and this was no problem. Amy taught everyone the basics and eveyone was soon confidently paddling round the coast. It was also well balanced so once we got going there was more than enough for people with more experience, enjoying the rock chutes and caves.
Total experience was fantastic and bonus its not weather dependent.

Sea kayak family trip - Booked a private family sea kayak around the coast with my 5 year old and my husband. Amy took us out and she was fantastic. We saw lots of wildlife, switched kayaks so that we could be with each other and in a single and showed us smuggler’s caves. We swam and had a superb time. Fantastic experience, a real highlight of our holiday. Would definitely recommend it as an activity and Amy was amazing. Thank you!

First time kayak with friends - The whole experience was fantastic. Great tips from our instructor Sarah on how to move/turn the kayak and also provided info about the history of newquay. We were also lucky enough to see a seal in the water. Sarah was also very understanding and helpful when my friend suffered from sea sickness.
