- 7501 Wiles Rd - How would you like to learn to play the “Congas in just 15 minutes”? I’m excited to share this new approach to learning for almost anyone of any age. Known as “Tumbao”, “Marcha” or “Rhythm Pattern”, you can learn to play this basic Conga pattern used in most popular music today in just 15 minutes. In this two-hour audience participation show, I take you through the history of how the Conga drums have influenced American Music (8 minutes), followed by the “15 minute Conga” lesson, and 60 to 70 minute audience play along to rhythms such as Jazz, Rock, Latin, Soul, Funk, R&B and Pop. We end the lesson with “Oh When The Saints Come Marching In”. During the show, I’ll also play several Conga Rhythyms from my recently published book to hopefully enlighten the audience to the history of this instrument. Participants will take home a printed copy free of charge of the music they just learned, to practice at home. No experience needed. Learn to play the most popular rhythm patterns and learn to READ THE NOTES “GUARANTEED”. Play along for an experience like no other. This is an audience participation show.
