Nice bike tour of Copenhagen - A super fun bike tour through Copenhagen, past the highlights of this nice city. Our guide Annachiara told us a lot about Copenhagen in a fun humorous way.

Well worth it! - Jacob was such an interesting tour guide and took us around at our own pace, never making us feel rushed. We got a real feel for the city and learned lots of new things. Bikes were well maintained and once we got the hang of them (after years of no cycling) it was a really fun experience and not intimidating at all. 90 mins was just enough time too. Baskets on front of bike, so you can take your water bottle/bag etc… or lockers to leave things.

Great activity for first day - Our guide, Raphael, was fun & informative! We did the tour on the day of arrival to Copenhagen, which was ideal. We saw many of the sights and got ideas of things to do and where we wanted to spend more time.

Ride ok but super slow. Good to get the feel of cycling in Copenhagen. - Raphael was an attentive and calm guide. We had a couple of weak riders in a group of fifteen and he managed them well. Very slow ride but safe.

- Our guide Failem was great. She gave us some key insights into what life looks like in Denmark and some historical facts on the sites we stopped by. The tour is though very short as it really stops only at a few places and one spends a lot of time waiting for the group at traffic lights!

A missed opportunity - The group (17 people) was far too big for one guide, especially to cycle through a city. The guide gave a very good explanation. Too bad there were relatively few stops.

- I strongly discourage others from reserving group tours with City Bike Adventures. We have led an annual summer study abroad program for teachers since 2011 and always book a bike tour in our host city to orient our participants to the broader city and its cultural highlights. From Prague to Munich to Buenos Aires, these cycling tour companies are typically well managed and provide a valuable experience. That is until June 27, 2025, and our unfortunate experience with City Bike Adventures in Copenhagen, the single worst bicycle tour we have booked across 11 study abroad programs. Upon booking a 90-minute city highlights tour, City Bike Adventures placed all 15 of our participants in a single group with one guide, knowing a group of that size could not get through intersections together and follow the leader through a busy urban core. Half of our group was perpetually lost, unsure where the guide had gone or which road to turn down to follow her. The guide only stopped in two or three locations to deliver any narrative about the city, perhaps because it took our group so long to catch up to her, or perhaps because a 90-minute tour is too brief to see anything? I'm glad we didn't book the three-hour tour, though, because everyone in our group was completely relieved after this 90-minute mad dash was over. While Copenhagen is largely bicycle friendly, this 90-minute tour is directed to travel along busier corridors in the city with heavy vehicular traffic, making the issue of regularly losing one's guide even worse amongst novice bikers unfamiliar with the roads and cycling customs. The tour was so poor, we could have done it on our own with a rented bicycle off the street. I also found the disorganization of the main City Bike Adventures office to be unsatisfactory. The guide was the only person available to help with set up (seat height, helmets, baskets) and orientation to a bicycle with an awkward back pedal brake. Our group would have been glad to pay for two guides, but there was no communication from City Bike Adventures to make this recommendation upon accepting our reservation for a large party. If you regularly run tours and know a group of this size will be problematic for a single guide, either don't accept the reservation or communicate with the group that they'll have to pay for a second guide. In one of the most efficient cities on the planet, the gross mismanagement of this office was a shocking surprise and utter disappointment for which we had to apologize to our participants. If you are a group leader and in search of a bicycle tour operator in Copenhagen, I encourage you to look elsewhere. Maybe if you're a family of 4-5 and book a private tour, you'll have better luck. I wouldn't even risk that, though, after our experience.
