Pedra do Telegrafo - From up there we appreciate an spectacular view that includes the Restinga da Marambaia, the Selvagem Beach, the Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach, the Barra da Tijuca Beach and the Gávea’s Rock.
That traditional picture of someone hanging from the edge of the rock is taken in the Bigorna Rock (translation Anvil Rock) located in one of the spots of the Telegraph’s Rock hike.

The Telegraph Rock has attracted the attention of many hikers from around the world. The rock is far from the central area of the city, located in the State Park of the White Rock. The transfer service will take you to the State Park to start the hike.
It is a moderate hike and a little steep in the beginning. The tour guide will assist you along the way. From up there we have a spectacular view of the Restinga da Marambaia, the Selvagem Beach and the Gávea Rock.
The highlight is Bigorna Rock. You may sit on the rock to take a picture that gives the impression that you are hanging from the edge of it. Everyone will believe that you took a risk taking that picture.

Not recommended for young children.
Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended for this tour.
Bring sunblock, snacks and bottle of water.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 19 travelers per Minivan.

Great tour! - The hike is very strenuous, but the view is well worth it. Fabiano was excellent. He helped my friends who couldn't make it get an Uber back. He went above and beyond to check on everyone and make sure they were ok. He also gave his extra water and took pictures of us on the rock.

Prepare to sweat! - The hike itself was good, but it is a strenuous activity. The hike is an hour long going up. Make sure u come prepared to hike and stay hydrated, u will sweat. Once you are at the top there is a wait to take pictures. There is no time limit or certain amount of poses you can do so the wait is 2 hours long maybe longer. There is no shade so u wait in the hot sun for hours since there is no limit, which was annoying. There should be a 5 minute limit per person to make the time shorter and have shade as we wait. The restaurant they take you to eat at is so hot, I almost passed out. They also didn't have any soap in the bathroom which worried me because the employees were using this bathroom as well. Overall, the activity was fun and Fabienne was great and really cared about our safety.
