- Villa del Balbianello - Definitely, the most spectacular place on Lake Como is Villa Balbianello. It is located on a promontory overlooking the whole lake and its architecture is perfectly integrated with nature. Now known to be the Lake Como Star Wars Villa, Villa Balbianello was originally a monastery. It was the home of cardinals and noble families. The villa inside is a museum with souvenirs from worldwide. The villa owner was Monzino a famous explorer, so a lot of souvenirs from his explorations are exposed in it. The villa is also famous because many scenes from the film Star Wars Episode II were shot there. In 2006 it was also the location set for the movie James Bond Casino Royale. Today the villa is part of the Italian Environmental Fund; the gardens and the interior of the villa can be visited by paying a ticket. The villa can also be rented for private events and weddings. If you want live one of the most romantic experiences of your life please make sure to arrive at the villa on a private boat.

The itinerary typically kicks off in the town of Como, but we can also accommodate departures from neighbouring settlements. The tour includes a visit to Laglio, home to George Clooney’s picturesque residence, and Nesso with its iconic Orrido. You’ll get the chance to savour the unique charm of Comacina Island, the solitary island on Lake Como, and marvel at two of Como’s most breathtaking attractions: Villa Balbianello and Bellagio. Two swimming breaks are included in the summer schedule.

An unforgettable experience! - Francesco was a true professional, and had the knowledge and experience to explain all the stories of these wonderful villas on Lake Como. A must-do experience at Lake Como! - My husband and i, our two adult children,
and my sister thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular 3-hour tour of Lake Como. Frank, our boat captain was very responsive and communicative when I was booking the tour about a month beforehand. He was very accommodating about a custom pickup location after another tour we scheduled that morning and drop-off to the town where we were staying. Frank arrived on time to pick us up where we requested (having sent pictures in advance of the meeting place), and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the sights. The weather was incredible and the sights were magical. Our favorite part was having our own private boat, and stopping at Orrido di Bellano, a waterfall and Roman bridge where our kids swam to and jumped off the bridge into the lake. This was the highlight of our visit to Lake Como and any length of boat tour is a must-do in our opinion. It’s the best way to see Lake Como.

Book this tour if you have teens - Book it today! Frank's boat tour of Lake como was our best day in Italy. We cruised, looking at villas, learning history from Frank. The best part was swimming and jumping off a bridge! Wonderful.

THE BEST boat ride ever! - Francesco was THE BEST. You should book this tour immediately. Very comfortable boat and an informative and beautiful tour of Lake Como. Really wonderful guide, great English, good sense of humor. We got to swim and see the sites. Couldn’t have been better!
