Soaring High: My Thrilling Zipline Adventure at Seven Falls
When the call of the Woods Course Zipline at Seven Falls reached me, I knew I had to experience it firsthand. This adventure promised a unique blend of adrenaline and nature, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype.
Soaring Through the Pines
The thrill of the Woods Course Zipline at Seven Falls in Colorado Springs was calling my name, and I couldn’t resist. As a former extreme sports athlete, I’ve experienced my fair share of adrenaline-pumping activities, but this one promised something unique. Nestled in the heart of the Seven Falls Canyon, the Woods Course offered a chance to soar over pines, creeks, and valleys, with the added bonus of a natural granite arch and the majestic Midnight Falls.
Our adventure began with a bumpy ride up the mountain, a prelude to the excitement that awaited us. The anticipation built as we reached the starting point, where our guides, including the ever-entertaining Grant, briefed us on safety and technique. His silly jokes lightened the mood, and soon we were ready to take flight.
The first zip was a gentle introduction, but as we progressed, the lines grew longer, faster, and higher. The wind whipped through my hair as I flew through the air, the world below a blur of green and granite. On the final, longest zip, we let out triumphant yells and whistles, echoing through the canyon. The people below waved back, perhaps wishing they were up there with us.
Exploring the Magnificent Seven Falls
After the exhilarating zipline experience, we had the opportunity to explore the trails around Seven Falls. The guides provided us with instructions, and we set off on our own, eager to discover the beauty of this natural wonder. The falls themselves were a sight to behold, cascading down the rock face in a series of seven distinct drops.
The trails offered a chance to immerse ourselves in the rugged beauty of the canyon, with each turn revealing a new perspective. We climbed the 200+ steps to get a closer look at the falls, each step a reminder of the adventure we’d just experienced. The view from the top was worth every ounce of effort, a breathtaking panorama of the canyon and the surrounding landscape.
Though a trail map would have been helpful, the sense of exploration added to the thrill. We wandered through the trails, taking in the sights and sounds of the canyon, before making our way back to the Broadmoor van for the ride back to our starting point.
A Day to Remember
Reflecting on the day, the Woods Course Zipline was more than just an adrenaline rush; it was a journey through one of Colorado’s most stunning landscapes. The combination of heart-pounding excitement and natural beauty made for an unforgettable experience.
While I’ve zipped in various locations around the world, including the flips and spins of Costa Rica and the adventurous poses of Adventures Out West, the Woods Course offered its own unique charm. The price may have seemed steep, but the adventure and the access to Seven Falls made it worth every penny.
For those seeking a blend of thrill and nature, the Woods Course Zipline is a must-try. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie like me or simply looking for a new way to experience the great outdoors, this adventure promises memories that will last a lifetime. Check it out here
