- Garden of the Gods - Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Garden of the Gods is a renowned tourist destination celebrated for its breathtaking red rock formations that resemble ancient castles and spires. The park features numerous hiking trails, including the well-loved Balanced Rock Trail, and is ideal for rock climbing, photography, and appreciating the area’s natural beauty.
“It is free to visit.”
Note: The tour spans over 6.5 miles, includes more than 31 audio stories, and typically takes about 2-3 hours to complete.
New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
- Kissing Camels Golf Course - Initially, the two camels were not distinct rocks. They once appeared similar to the rest of the rock face. However, a tiny crack within one sandstone layer, almost invisible, set them apart.
- Central Gardens at Garden of the Gods - The Central Gardens offers an easy, two-mile trail through the heart of the Garden of the Gods. It provides an excellent introduction to this remarkable place, allowing visitors to view some of the park’s most famous formations. Note: This 6.5-mile-long tour covers the essentials of Garden of the Gods in 1-2 hours.
- Siamese Twins - The Siamese Twins Trail is located ahead on the right. This mile-long trail, which takes about 20 minutes, showcases two stunning rocky spires. Turn into the parking lot on the right if you wish to hike the trail.
- Balanced Rock - Balanced Rock is unmissable from this point. This massive formation seems to balance precariously on a red sandstone platform. But how does it manage this? Despite its name and appearance, this rock is not actually balancing. It is all part of a single formation!
- Giant Footprints - The Giant Footprints resemble another rock formation, but something is slightly off. Literally! Typically, rock strata are horizontal, like a lasagna. However, here they are diagonal, angled at 45 degrees. It’s as if a giant stepped on a loose floorboard.
- South Gateway Rock - South Gateway Rock, which was passed earlier, is notable for its numerous small pockmarks. These marks highlight one of the more challenging aspects of climbing this type of sandstone.
