Our very own geology professor! - It has been a couple of months since my trip to Colorado. My friend and I are still raving about our private geology professor! He is a great educator and adapts wonderfully to the level of his audience. He took us to places away from the crowds and we learned so much more that we would have reading guide books and signs.

Garden of the Gods geology tour!!! Awesome!!!! - Eric was wonderful, his knowledge of the area / geology / history is very impressive. He did a great job of keeping everyone engaged and excited about learning about the history of the pikes peak region and how the garden of the gods became such a special place. We love taking tours like this all around the world and Eric is one of the best, you will not be disappointed young or old (our party ranged from 18-80).

Great tour with an amazing guide - Eric was absolutely amazing! He was so informative, passionate, and engaging. He breaks down complex geological information about the Garden of the Gods in a way that any layperson can understand it. We walked around the park, traveling through time, learning about the rock formation through the various eras. He tailors the tour to the group. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

Nerds Rock! - This was a great program. I signed up my family because my husband loves rocks. Our guide was very knowledgeable, teaching us about the land, rocks and fossils over the past millions of years. Fascinating! Felt he customized our lesson based on our previous knowledge, interest and questions. We will definitely pay more attention when we are hiking in the future, looking for hidden treasures. Thank you, Eric!

Time Travel for Beginners - Our geology hike with Professor Eric Billmeyer was a guided tour into Deep Time. Rocks that I would have passed with nary a glance included stromatolites, ancient mats of algae that infused our atmosphere with oxygen and turned Colorado's rocks a pleasing red. He showed us rocks with particular "crosshatch" markings that were sand dunes when the only continent was Pangea, and the interior, including Colorado, was sand dunes. He explained how the rocks came to stand in a vertical position with the rise of today's Rockies. His notebook held many illustrations and maps to support our understanding, and his rocks and fossils further complemented the story. He enjoyed our enthusiasm and interest and seemed to find no question too dumb. We will henceforth observe rocks and landforms with increased interest, thanks to this gifted teacher.
