Sigiriya, also known as Sinhagiri, is a historical fortress erected on a gigantic rock column nearly 200 metres (660 ft) in height. It is found in the northern Matale District, near Dambulla in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. The site is an area of significant historical and archaeological value. The ancient Sri Lankan chronicles, the Culavamsa, says that King Kashyapa (477 – 495 AD) selected this site as his capital city. He constructed his royal residence on the summit of this rock, adorned it with vibrant frescoes, and built a monumental lion-shaped gateway on a small plateau halfway up the rock’s side. The name ‘Sīnhāgiri’ — meaning Lion Rock, bears an etymological resemblance to ‘Sinhapura’, the Sanskrit term for Singapore, translating to the Lion City.

fantastic - Simply breathtaking! The Sigiriya tour was fantastic. I just enjoyed the rock climb. The pace of
life in this region is generally slower and more connected to nature. If you want to take a break
from the daily hustle, this is the place to go. I was not too sure if I should take this trip but later I
decided to go as I have a free day before I left Sri Lanka. Take my word it is a must see
historical wonders and a hidden gem. I will cherish the memories forever!

Sigiriya tour - Kudos to our guide, for making the Sigiriya tour so memorable! His anecdotes about the ancient
kings were fascinating. The view from the top was breathtaking, and the whole journey was

Amazing tour - The Sigiriya tour was well-organized. We learned so much about the ancient civilization, and the
Pidurangala Rock climb was adventurous. I have visited Sri Lanka long before but didn’t really
have the opportunity of visiting Sigiriya. So I thought this time I would definitely go. No regrets, I
had a blast!

A great day - Kavi made a custom day trip from Kandy to Colombo for us. We went to sigiriya rock and the area around and did the village tour, the whole day was really nice and Kavi was really nice and helpful the whole time!

Big day! Colombo-sigiriya-pidurangla-kandy - Another amazing tour organised by Kavi which he customised to suit my preferences (to also transit from Colombo to Kandy) whilst seeing Sigiriya, hiking pidurangala rock, cave temple, delicious local lunch, seeing a beautiful local river and finishing up in Kandy. Kavi guided the Pidurangala hike with the driver Samir, they also came into Sigiriya and hiked with me (although they didn't have too and had to pay their own entry fees). Kavi really just wants to share his beautiful country and its history with his visitors. Thank you again Kavi!

Ecstasy team - My visit to Sri Lanka last week to Sigiriya was one of the best tours which gave me a lifetime experience, I must say all in one package. It's been an Archeological trip, an adventurous tour, nature loving and peculiar sight seeing and what not. I adored each and every minute of my Sigiriya stay. Best part being with taking part in day to day activities of Sri Lankan farmers very friendly explained everything smiling with whole lot of patience. I even harvested their produce, and holding the sickle gave me goosebumps. Special thanks to Lenin and team for making our stay a memorable one.

Visual treat - Visual treat for our eyes on our recent family visit to Sri lanka. This is yet another level of experience completely new to us.The diversity of our journey pleasantly surprised all of us from elders to children thoroughly by the serenic beauty of Sigiriya.
Sigiriya is an archeological site from the 9th — 10th centuries B.C. This has undoubtedly become the most eye-opening, adventurous, and breathtaking experience of their lives, one that they will remember, draw from, and love for many years to come. What personally attracted me was those Persian genre based garden construction.Thanks to Lenin for the trip.

Perfect Itinerary - If you are looking out for an ideal tour, in Sri Lanka Sigiriya is for those people. Lenin, our driver and guide, was extremely passionate, informed, helpful, and presented us with the extreme beauty of Sigiriya.
Lenin traveled with us around Sigiriya, showing us both local spots and tourist attractions. Sigiriya has a lot to offer from sculpture works to beautifully planned and executed Gardens. There are many gardens. Viewing it from the top of Sigiriya, those top views are fascinating.
These vivacious team were professional, helpful, and quick to respond to our needs and wishes. Very sociable and well-organized.
