Kitulagala, situated to the west of the road from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, is a town nestled amidst dense forested hills. The Oscar-winning 1957 film ‘Bridge on the River Kwai’ by David Lean was shot here, on the banks of Kelani River, contributing to its fame.
