    Kuruwita-Erathna Path to Adam’s Peak: (12km)

The path to Adam’s Peak, with the exception of a few areas, is a rigorous and unrelenting ascent. The route meanders through woodlands and disused tea plantations, making it wider, though it’s worth noting that steps are scarce except in the most challenging sections. After crossing ‘waranagala,’ one can view the Waranagala falls, which are particularly impressive during the off-season. Continue over the bridge and follow the path on the right side of the forest, leading to the waterfall’s rocky base and several enticing pools.

As you progress, you’ll encounter the ‘Ambalama’ or resting spot at ‘seethagangula,’ which translates to icy-river, an excellent place for a break, but be warned, the water is EXTREMELY cold! The forest becomes denser until you reach the Medahinna Temple, a Buddhist sanctuary. Approximately 9km from the start, you’ll come across another resting area called ‘Idikatupana,’ an ideal location to enjoy the sunset. Beyond this point, you’ll merge with a trail coming from Ratnapura town at the ‘Galwangediya’ rest stop. From there, the path converges with the Hatton-Maskeliya route and continues to the peak together.

Amazing - It was very crowded and so challenging since it was weekend and school holiday. But the view is amazing. I would do it again and again. Just in crowded days, I would start like 12 p.m or even earlier in order to catch the sun rise on the top. There are ques on the way and sometimes you have to wait more than an hour.
