The Agua Clara Lock, which translates to ‘Clear Water’ in English, is the modern lock constructed for Post Panamax vessels. Just a car journey of 1 hour and 15 minutes from Panama City to Colón on the Atlantic side allows you to witness the magnificent spectacle of colossal ships being elevated or descended within the locks - sights only possible at this location since there isn’t a visitor’s centre at the new locks on the Pacific side. I urge you to take the time to marvel at this wonder of engineering. Plus, we’re also going to traverse the Atlantic bridge, which offers a stunning view of the Canal.
