We begin a scenic tour of Coimbra after gathering the group. Our journey will take us through numerous vineyards, pausing at one of the region’s most historical and esteemed wineries for a visit. We’ll get a firsthand experience of the ‘terroir’, the vineyards, and the cool, deep tunnels where the wines are stored. This will be followed by a tasting session of wine and sparkling. We’ll then proceed to a local restaurant, where we’ll learn the secret to achieving the ‘crispy’ skin characteristic of Bairrada-style roasted pig, and savor its taste.

A nice afternoon of wine and beautiful scenery just outside Coimbra! - Xavier was an excellent guide and provided an excellent tour! The winery was interesting and the product very good.

Great Tour and Wines - Great tour. Experienced the local cuisine and some do the best wines with an awesome guide. It’s a must. You will definitely get more than just a simple taste

Very nice introduction to art of wineproduction - Very well guided detailed tour to Frei Joao and the tasting. The smell within the cellars. Xavier was introducing us the area and the winemaking, while taking us there by the comfortable van. A nice baira lunch with crispy meat and sparkling wine.

Sparkling - Our host was extremely friendly and we had a great time. The museum in the wine cellar was a true experience. He told us a lot about wine and his favourite places in Portugal. Obrigado!
