Tulum and Coba 12/2023 - A nice balance of historic tours and hidden gems at the denote. Local lunch place was quaint and food was authentic. Alan was a great guide and Alberto was a competent driver.

Awsome tour to Tulum and Coba - Pickup service was perfect, Felipe was a good drive and it was safe to leave bag’s in the van during the visit’s to sights. Tour guide was very helpful and visit to one of the cenote was memorable.

Great trip - This trip is quite long (we went from Playa del Carmen and it took us about 12 hours total), but you also see a lot: two archeological sites with plenty of time to visit, one cenote, and a visit to Playa Paraíso, where we went for a short snorkeling expedition (extra). As promised, we travelled in a small group, with just another family.

Great - It was the most beautiful tour that I have ever been on. We visited the Tulum archaeological site, Coba, the very beautiful Tulum beach, had good food. Our tour guide made the tour extremely interesting! My advice: Bring a lot of pesos in order to rent a bike or buy souvenirs or tip the tour guides.

Maravilloso - I would 100% recommend this tour and the company. We had to change last minute our pick up location, the company got back to me right away and did the changes immediately. They are very professional and easy to deal with. They picked us up right on time and the tour itself was wonderful, very well organized and our tour guide and driver were excellent! amazed with all the info our tour guide provided us. The only downside was the food, very disappointed.

Great Value - We were picked up from our hotel bright and early by Poncho (guide) and Jorge (driver). We had a small group of 11 people of all ages. There was a reasonable amount of walking on the tours at Coba and Tulum. However we were given the option to rent bikes or taxis at Coba. Poncho was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the region and culture. The cenote we visited was one of the quieter ones, and our group pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. A note: although the title of this tour says Multum Ha, we were told that the itinerary was to go to one of the other cenotes, but we were given the choice to go to Multum Ha instead (highly recommended). After Coba and the cenote, we stopped at a restaurant for a buffet lunch, which was fantastic. After lunch we went to the beautiful Tulum ruins. We finished the day with an hour or so at the nearby beach, where there is a bar and food available (try the coco loco!). With driving the tour lasted about 12 hours and we felt that there was sufficient time at each of the stops. Poncho is extremely passionate about the subject matter and made this an exceptional tour!

Absolutely Wonderful! - This tour was absolutely wonderful and we could not have asked for a better guide than Joel or a better driver than Ruben. There are many reasons I say this. First, there were around 15 people on our tour. Joel said this is a bit larger than usual but I don't think any of us felt that the size was a negative. Part of this I chalk up to Joel setting a wonderful atmosphere and the other part is the wonderful people on the tour. Joel engaged us as he shared the history of what we were about to experience. His love and enthusiasm about his work was contagious. We all started chatting with each other about the shared experience and by the end of the day, many of us had exchanged contact information because of the positive and warm environment he cultivated. Logistically, shortly after I booked the trip, I received a message asking for the hotel info. where the tour would pick us up. After providing that, they offered an estimate of the pick-up time and re-sent an updated time the night before the excursion. Joel and Ruben picked us up right on time at the door of our hotel. I mention this because another tour I had gone on with a different company had advertised transportation to and from the hotel but did not keep their word about that. For that one we had to walk about 20 minutes each way to a pick-up point. After we were all on our way, Joel shared with us the plan for the day, yet he never made us feel rushed. At Coba, we had the choice of riding bikes or walking and most of us chose to walk. At Playa Paraiso, vans are no longer permitted to drop people off right at the beach so we walked from Tulum to the Playa. It was such a lovely walk (not too long and along a shaded path) and it offered us the opportunity to learn a bit more about the history of that region from Joel. And even though we all chose to walk, Joel and Ruben offered to get us as close as possible if any of us didn't feel up for it. We all did but it was still nice to know that they were invested in making sure we were comfortable. Additionally, Joel and Ruben made sure we always had cold bottles of water at the ready. I've been on other tours where the guides provide you a single bottle of water only. But Joel and Ruben were handing out bottles left and right throughout the day to make sure we were hydrated. There were four children on the tour (my two children and another family with two children) and they got along fantastically. Joel encouraged all of our participation during the tours but I feel he really made the children feel special as he would ask their opinions about things. We had a full day but it was really well planned out. First, we went to Coba and after that we cooled off swimming in a beautiful ceynote. After a full buffet lunch, we went on to Tulum and then cooled off swimming and drinking some fun refreshments at Playa Paraiso. Ruben stayed with our belongings so we wouldn't have to take them along during parts of the excursion when they weren't needed, too. This trip was a really magical experience for my children and me and we are very grateful to have been able to experience it through this tour company and tour guides. Please do not hesitate at all to book this!

Room for improvement - First of, Tulum and Coba were amazing and our trip to Mexico would not have been complete without seeing them. We especially were amazed with the view from the top of the main pyramid at Coba - a must do!. The tour itself had some rough patches. Our tour guide, Sandra, was definitely very knowledgeable and informative. We learned a lot from her. She was also very considerate and kind with my family - helped my children on various occasions from strapping their life vest on at the Cenote to helping them complete the descent from the pyramid at Coba so I could focus on my own descent. There were some cons that were not her fault really.Seemed a bit disorganized - we were told the itinerary was being switched up to avoid crowds/heat (tulum first, then coba, lunch, cenote and finally beach) but then 20 -30 minutes into our drive to Tulum, they had to turn around and drive all the way back to where our hotel was to pick up another couple - no idea why that happened but we lost a good deal of time and I felt like they tried to make up for it by skimming time here and there at the ruins which was disappointing. After turning back, they also then re-arranged the itinerary once again and we ended up going to Coba first, then cenote, lunch, tulum and beach. This rearranged itinerary was a little more disappointing because it meant we had to tour Tulum in our bathing suits and eat lunch while wet from the cenote - minor annoyances, we still enjoyed overall. Restaurant was authentic Mexican and pleasant ambiance. I wish we had more "free" time to explore Tulum on our own instead of staying as a group the whole time. Beach was pretty but in the end could have done without it as there was LOTS of sargassum so couldn't go swimming anyway. Overall, we all enjoyed the trip/experience but with some improvements (better organization, more free time) - would be a perfect excursion.

Bad start turned into a good day! - This tour had a horrible start but turned into a good day! We had a 6:50am pick up scheduled and no one came. I called the booking company Viator/Trip Advisor who was absolutely no help. 50 minutes after scheduled pick up time, I finally received a call from the local tour company that there was “traffic” and they were on the way. When we arrived with our group they rearranged our tour stops which made us need to pivot our plans after to go directly to our new hotel. Our guide was helpful and arranged a taxi so it worked out. The Tulum Archeological tour was poor-average. Very fast and I didn’t understand the relevance of the stops and facts we were hearing (I did the same tour 3 weeks before and it was much more fascinating). The Coba lunch was not very appetizing.. slop in a metal buffet bins. Coba was absolutely amazing and our favorite stop. This tour has all the right pieces and a very kind and informative tour guide but need to step it up and improve their organization!
