Get Outta Town - Andrés was a phenomenal guide who is an experience unto himself. He seemed to know just about everyone (possibly from having done the tour so many times himself!), which certainly has its perks. He adds a personal flair to the whole tour and is flexible with regards to not rushing anyone and really emphasizing that living in the moment is more important than getting on to the next locale. The tour itself is a phenomenal bargain, as it covers 3 of the most fantastic sites just outside of Bogota, and gives you a flavor of life in Colombia outside of the big city, which to our knowledge was not done by any other tour company. You can get the individual locations or maybe 2 of them, but doing all 3 in one trip is unique. Guatavita Lagoon was an excellent reprieve for us in terms of getting outside of Bogota and really breathing in the fresh air that the country has as you get away from the pollution of the city. Highly recommend bringing a good amount of water if you're not used to the elevation; however, it's important to note it can only be in Glass Bottles or some type of Reusable container. Single Use Plastics are forbidden in the park. The hike itself is about 2 miles, over half of which is up hill, but there are a decent number of opportunities to take breaks, and there were certainly folks in their 70s doing the hike. It's also a one-way hike as when you get to the end there's transport to either take you back to the entry point or in our case, Andrés was there to ferry us to the next destination. The Cathedral of Salt was a fascinating architectural feat. We're not religious people, so could have done less with that and more on the engineering of the mine itself. Having said that it was impressive in any case. For a tour hack, you could skip past most of the cathedral and go straight to the Commercial Zone of the mine and check out the Salt Spa at De Sal (it's through a door behind their check-out counter). We didn't know about it until we got down, but would have likely opted for a massage or something had we known ahead of time. Riding on a Thomas the Tank Engine train out of the mine and back up to the parking lot where we started, was a cherry on top! Moving onto Andrés Carne de Res (Chía) it was nothing short of a feast for the senses. The place is like no other restaurant I've ever encountered. Everywhere you look has some level of visual interest. Apparently every person that ever works there is expected to offer something to the restaurant, and it certainly shows. There's custom works of art in every corner/crevice of the compound. I say compound because it's at least 3 different structures which can host upwards of ~7500 people. The food was phenomenal but you almost certainly should look at the menu ahead of time, because it's dozens of pages long. Andrés was kind enough to make recommendations in the face of overwhelming choices while also working with a few options we had found ahead of time. Was also the fastest restaurant service we had had in Colombia while we were there. Taken altogether, I cannot recommend this tour more than I have. It's well worth the money and makes for an incredibly memorable day trip outside Bogota. Treat yo'self!

Unforgettable Experience  - It is an unforgettable experience, the tour began in Guatavita, a magical place with a lot of history, a beautiful lake and very helpful people. Then we arrived at the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, it is an incredible city, with a wonder beneath its streets, I was able to see one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen and they have a variety of shops right there. Finally we entered the famous restaurant "Andrés Carne de res", a very native place in Colombia, where you can enjoy delicious cuisine and be able to live special moments of this beautiful culture, Andrés was my guide and he always had a very friendly attitude, he´s a natural photographer and was really kind all the time... It really is a unique experience, full of beautiful places... I would repeat it a thousand times!

Andres is a very nice person, he makes sure everything is fine at all times, not to mention the very comfortable ride they gave us. A Must Do in Bogota - Spent an incredible day with our private guide Andres. He picked us up on-time at the designated pick-up spot. Transportation was in a comfortable private vehicle. He gave us clear agenda of the day activities and what to expect. He made sure we were completely comfortable and tailored the tour to our desires. He provided us with insights and knowledge along the way in a fun and informative manner. He made sure we got home safely to our final destination. You can book with confidence in Bogota and we highly recommend this tour. 3 sights not to be missed if you have a day to explore outside of Bogota.

Must See Bogota Locations - I really loved the destinations on this tour! Laguna de Guatavita, The Salt Cathedral and Andrés Carne de Res were each unique but also really cool! We booked this tour because it had all three stops in one tour and it was worth it! I think the organization of the tour could be improved. Our tour lasted 15 hours, 3 hours longer than described. Many times felt chaotic or unplanned. Laguna de Guatavita was beautiful. It was great to see the lagoon and landscape, plus interesting to learn about the local people and culture. This stop was longer than expected because it includes a locally guided tour to the lagoon. It is not an independent walk up the mountain. The lagoon tour guide did not speak English. Our tour guide couldn’t translate what she was saying and he often said “she talks a lot” and couldn’t translate. So, this part was pretty painful. The hike up was steep, but not bad. The views were really great! The Salt Cathedral was beautiful! The rooms are huge and the workmanship is incredible. You receive a listening devise for a self guided tour, which made this stop easy and educational. Note, to exit, you have to take a train and line is long! Andrés Carne de Res was a delicious restaurant! Plus, the decor was unique and fun. The food portions are huge. I would highly recommend looking at the menu online before arriving. It’s a big menus and it’s overwhelming. Our guide was incredibly friendly! He had great intentions the entire trip. There were moments where he felt lost or his English was not strong enough for an American group, but he was a great person and he tried very hard. Overall, the tour company and organization could be improved. Despite four stars, I would book this tour again. The three attractions were wonderful and worth seeing! I would recommend.

Don't book with this tour company - I booked this tour before leaving Australia for my holiday and confirmed with full payment. My travel agent made absolutely sure that I was included in the booking as a solo traveller. I arrived in Bogota two days before this tour after travelling for two weeks and not a word from the tour company. On the day of travel I took a 40 minute taxi ride to the starting point and arrived 30 minutes early, waited in the rain for nearly an hour and the tour bus did not arrive. When I rang the number provided I was told that the tour had been cancelled days ago and they had notified me and my travel agent. Neither of us had been notified and the reason for the tour being cancelled was that I was the only person booked for that date. They then asked to put me on the next day but I had no other chance to do this tour because I was doing an organised group tour around Colombia. I then cancelled my other tour booked for my last day in Bogota several weeks later and rebooked for that day with this tour company as I was desperate to see these three locations and this is my once in a lifetime chance to visit Colombia. They accepted my booking, charged my credit card again and then just two days before this second chance they cancelled again. This is just not acceptable. I am always very careful booking my tours as I am usually a solo traveller and need the safety and security of an organised company to take me some of these places. I am always checking and double checking that I can be a solo traveller and expect that when the tour company takes my money and confirms my booking then I am accepted on that tour. If you are going to have minimum numbers on a tour then say so on the booking page and I won't waste my time and can book with another company so travellers dont miss out and are terribly disappointed as this ruins the holiday.
