Great Day Out - John was our driver he was first class, very knowledgable. Really had a wonderful day, John is a first class driver who made us feel very safe on some challenging roads and terrain. I would highly recommend this company.

Fun day in western Madeira - Fun day with a mix of quick stops and longer stops where you had time to walk around. Plus a bit of off roading and zooming for adventure. Our guide Gabriel gave us interesting information and set clear expectations throughout the day so everything went smoothly.

Great full day out, lots to see but plenty of tunnels too. Take layers in November! - We were collected on time from our hotel in an open topped jeep. Our driver John was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The tour stopped at many places of interest and beauty and we were told when we would have opportunities for coffee/lunch etc. a few additional view point stops for photos were appreciated. At the highest point there was plenty of low cloud. This inhibited our views and of course this couldn’t be avoided. It was cold though and I’d definitely advise layers and hats as the wind in the open topped jeep was pretty sharp. It was a long day but we feel we’d packed in loads of places. Good value for money and I would recommend this company and driver but don’t forget your jumper!!

Safari trip west of Madeira - Wonderful jeep trip. Lots to see and take photo shots. John our driver was very knowledgeable and had a lot of interesting facts on the countryside and vegetation as well as a witty repartee. Especially enjoyed the off road experience. Would recommend this trip to anyone coming to the island

Another great Safari Madeira tour - A third great tour for me with Safari Madeira. Driver Paolo was great. We visited a lot of the West of Madeira. Highlight was Porto Moniz with very rough seascape. Old forest up on the top was fantastic too though. This was my third tour with them and I’d recommend the to anyone.

The jeep was well worn.... - The jeep was well worn. When it started to rain the roof leaked. There were other jeeps from the same company that we met along the way. The other cars appeared to be in better condition. Unfortunately we had bad weather. Parts of the tour we were unable to do because of wind and rain . The off road part was too muddy and we had to turn back.

Safari Jeep tour results in avoidable accident - The jeep safari started off really well and our guide was helpful, informative and chatty. When we stopped at Fanal to view the ancient, mystical forest our guide failed to mention how treacherous the ground was nearest the car park. There had been a lot of rain recently and the ground was extremely muddy and slippy as well as littered with rocks and boulders making it very difficult to walk on. Even if the ground was dry it would still be an effort to walk on as it was very uneven and there was no path. We were all wearing trainers and struggled to find any purchase. When we eventually made it over to the grass area our feet were caked in mud. The grassed area was uneven and slippy too. My friend slipped and broke her ankle in 2 places. It took 4 men to get her back to the jeep. Everyone was slipping and sliding and it was near impossible to get her over the ground. Although the guide did everything he could in that situation it might have been helpful to have some sort of warning about how uneven the ground was and to proceed with caution or at your own risk so people could make an informed decision whether to go ahead with that part of the tour. There was no official warning signage either in the car park or surrounding area. My friend ended up in hospital in Maderia and had a plate inserted into her foot. This was very stressful to all involved and in my opinion could have been avoided if it was made clear to us by the safari tour company that there was a certain amount of risk involved in that area.
