Best service by Diogo to see Madeira island on a private tour - We wre a group of five adult friends visiting Madeira in tej beginning of May 2024. Base on excellent TripAdvisor reviews we chose Diogo’s service to do both full day personal trips - East side and West side tours. We had a list of sights and places we wanted to see and this overlapped with Diogo’s plan. I cannot find words to describe Diogo’ s professionalism, politeness, humbleness and knowledge. He was very flexible. Able to answer any questions we had, many of those coming ad hoc to our minds. The second day we felt as if he was our old acquaintance, not to say friend. His van was immaculate. Diogo gave it additional shine whenever waiting for us doing local sightseeing. Suggested and stopped at good restaurants to our requested type of food and service. Highly empathic person. I am not surprised now how come he had 300 very good of 300 total reviews, what initially seemed to me unbelievable. I highly recommend Diogo and his services to anyone willing to the most and the best of Madeira.

Wonderful tour - We are so glad we decided to book a tour of the West side of the Island with Diogo. He was born in Madeira and is very knowledgeable and interesting and is an excellent driver. He picked us up at our hotel and dropped us back in Funchal in time to see the classic car parade. The scenery was stunning and we had plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos. Best Day on the Island - So many good things to say about this tour! I booked the tour a couple weeks before my arrival based on Diogo’s reviews and the stopping points for the West tour. This was not only one of the highlights of my time in Madeira but also easily one of the best tours I have ever been on. I prefer smaller tours and this day I was even luckier that it was just me! And although I probably ask the same number of questions as a group of 4 or more 😂 Diogo was happy to answer and was extremely kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Communication leading up to the tour was excellent and flexibility in timing for the stops made the tour even more relaxing! I highly recommend Diogo and booking farther in advance than I did as I’m sure he’s quick to book up fast! Thank you Diogo!

Fantastic mix of tourist sites with local flare. - Loved this tour, we really felt the local experience. Saw just enough “tourist” sites mixed in with local life scenes, which was what we requested. Thank you!!!

The Absolute Best - Madeira Tours by Diogo is the absolute perfect way to see the island. The drivers, Ricardo and Diogo, are both very kind and helpful. They know the island and love to show others. Great day. Highly recommend - We had an excellent day with our guide Rodrigo. He was very accommodating and knowledgeable. He didn’t rush us and gave us ample time to see the sights, have lunch etc. The van was comfortable and we felt safe with his driving. We did several tours while in Madeira and this was one of our favorite.

Must do in Madeira - Must do in Medeira. Our guide Tiogo was excellent. We enjoyed it very much despite the van being older.

Book Diogo for your tour - We did a private tour 4 of us with Diogo last week and all agreed it was the best part of the holiday and as my parents said best tour they have ever been on, on a holiday. As 4 of us it was a very similar price to if we had taken an organised coach/ mini bus tour with a bigger group which is how we had done the tour last year when we came. This was so much better as I had excellent communication with Diogo prior to booking so could slightly tweak things to spend longer in Porto moniz so we had time to swim and have a leisurely lunch. Diogo was excellent was very personable, chatty and knowledgeable. We found it so much more relaxing not being on a strict timeline to return to bus so could spend longer places we liked or less time if we felt ready to move on quicker. Would highly recommend Diogo for a tour.

We loved it - It was great to see the dramatic landscapes, vineyards and villages. Diogo is the perfect guide, knowledgeable and flexible.

Disappointing Day - Very disappointing day in Madeira. When we booked this tour I was under the impression it was a guided tour of the west side of the island. In fact it was only a taxi cab driving us from point to point with no guided tour. When we would reach a location the driver would state the name and tell us to explore on our own and that he would be waiting for us at the drop off location. No explanations, descriptions, background or history was provided. It became apparent the driver was not a tour guide and only a driver. Since it was a full day tour I asked about the options for lunch. He became quite flustered and was unable to offer any suggestions. We ended not having lunch. If you are only looking for a cab ride around the island, this tour would expensive but acceptable, however if you are looking for a guided tour you will be very disappointed. Before writing this review, I reviewed the details of the tour and realized several of the destinations listed were skipped including Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pool, the town of Seixal and Sao Vicente. Make sure if you are on this tour that the driver does not skip these stops since they are the "highlights" of the trip.
