Wells Gray Park is a pristine and untouched wilderness spanning over 540,000 hectares. It is currently under consideration for “World Heritage Status” by UNESCO due to its unique and wild volcanic features. The river itself is a sight to behold, serving as the drainage basin for the entire Wells Gray area. Described by Richard C. Bocking in his book “Mighty River” as one of the most dynamic tributaries of the entire Fraser River system, the Clearwater River boasts an incredible concentration of waterfalls, rapids, and chutes, arguably the greatest in BC.
