Great Accessible Evening for all ages - A fantastic evening for three generations of my family. My elderly father has had three strokes and has extremely limited mobility, this event was perfect for him as well as hugely amusing our 12 and 14 year old daughters. Una and her team took wonderful care of my father, finding him seats, giving him a hand walking into dinner, seating him with easy access to the bathrooms and some support for his back, they were so thoughtful and kind, he had an absolute blast.
The setting is a dramatic 500 year old castle with lovely grounds, arrive around 15 minutes early to collect your tickets from the box office (you MUST pre-book), welcome drinks of mead or fruit juice are served in pottery cups in the ancient hall to violin and celtic harp music and you are welcomed to the evening by your host, the high king's butler, Tom. There is some fun with four couples being appointed king and queen of each of Ireland's ancient kingdoms and this adds a bit of drama to the evening and lifts the atmosphere. There were three big coach groups the night we visited but it is also great for family bookings like us who aren't in a group.
Guests then proceed into the banquet hall and sit on benches at long tables with a high table and a stage visible to all. Each course is served with entertainment and some fun role play, there is music, Irish dancing and traditional songs. There are large jugs of wine, water and juice on each table as well as platters of wheaten bread. The menu was local smoked salmon, a soup course, chicken with vegetables, fruit crumble and tea or coffee. The musicians and players in full costume serve the meal and it is lots of fun with plenty of audience participation. A great evening of Irish fun in a unique setting. Much more accessible than Bunratty as a venue. Not cheap but we felt it was very good value for the four course meal with unlimited drink and several hours of non-stop entertainment. The team clearly care about their guests and want to give everyone a memorable evening, highly recommended.

A World Away, Fab Food and Show - Time stood still at when we entered the castle gates. The mead—for children and adults—set the mood and it was laughter and delight the whole night through. My mom and dad brought there kids and grandkids-15 of us and soon were seated at the high table as King and Lady of Ulster.
The music was wonderful, the hosts were gracious, and the food was good.
But the highlights were definitely the musicians and hosts. Hats off to Tom, Ruth, Connor, Anna, Anna, and Uma! Brava and Brava!!

AMAZING!! - This was an amazing experience for both my wife and I. The actors were in character from the very beginning, the MC was funny, the food was amazing and well it was held in an actual castle. 100% recommend for anyone visiting Ireland.

A Legendary Night of Entertainment - Knappogue Castle in Ennis, Ireland. Built in 1467 by Seàn MacConnemara, son of Sioda who built Bunratty. We were cordially greeted after parking at the west side of the castle. The lovely Lady Linda approached our family and asked for a volunteer for a special suprise! My youngest son was crowned King of Connacht! The high drama ensued! He was out of favor with King Brian Borù for he stole his queen away and far worse, brought her back ! As a gesture of goodwill King Hassan has brought delicious chicken seasoned with the finest wines of burgundy. But King Brian suspects foul play and asks Hassan to taste it. He begrudgingly does and faints straight away. A miraculous recovery occurs when the butler offers mouth to mouth.
This was a fantastic experience! My whole family enjoyed every minute!
The food was delicious and after the feast the servers became Irish Traditional entertainers. We heard “Star of the County Down” with amazing singing, violin and dancing. The wonderful Anna plaed a centuries old piece on the harp. Jack was the fourth place Irish
dance winner of Ireland! There were actual sparks flying from his tap shoes! We will never forget this wonderful evening!

Worth the money and effort to get there - I don’t usually enjoy typical touristy attractions, but we decided to try it. I’m so glad we did. Three tour buses pulled up, but it really wasn’t a problem. The entertainment was very good and not the gimmicky experience I feared. I was never bored. Then the food started coming. Again, I wasn’t expecting much, but everything was delicious. Every course was good. A cup of mead was given out on arrival, but once in the banquet hall, there were red and white wine jugs on the tables that were refilled all evening. It’s a bit pricey, but lots of wine, entertainment, and delicious food in a unique setting made it money well spent.

Good experience - Good mead; good entertainment. I would have preferred a meal without utensils as they were not used in medieval times. The wait staff was efficient and cleared used dishes quickly.

Medieval dinner with show - Very nice event. Good was okay show was okay but the one at bunratty castle was better. Where we were seated didn’t have a good view.
