Awesome experience instead of going to Rome. - Roberta was AWESOME! Very knowledgeable and engaging. She asked questions of the group and of course corrected our pronunciation of well known Italian artists. The food tasting exceeded my expectations. Much more food than I expected.

A great alternative to a trip to Rome - Having been to Rome several times, on this cruise stop we were looking for something different and found this combination of a walking tour of the area and food tastings along the way. We really enjoyed the tour even though there were only the two of us, Roberta our guide made the day very interesting. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Civitavecchia and took time to get to know us personally too. During the tour we stopped 3 times, for cakes, pizza and finally for an amazing treasure chest full of Italian cheeses, meats, breads etc. There was lots of lovely food to taste and we definitely couldn’t eat it all.

Excellent history and food tour - Roberta was amazing!! We were on a cruise and they explained how to meet her at the end of the port. There was 4 of us and another couple joined. It was a history tour with food included. She was very knowledgeable about the town she loved. She was funny and answered any questions we had. We got to eat 3 local pastries and had coffee to drink. I was able to get a Coke since I don’t drink coffee. The next stop was an amazing fried cheese/sauce/meat type of ball. Then we went on with more great history. Next stop crunchy pizza where we each got 3 small pieces. Our last stop was a delicious charcuterie and wine. It was a TON of food. We end talking and enjoying the food and getting to know each other. We highly recommend the tour. She was great!!

Excellent alternative to going all the way to Rome. - This was a great option instead of a very long ride to Rome. We loved getting to learn about the city from a knowledgeable guide. Roberta was excellent. She was very mindful of the pace as we had a couple of people along who needed a bit more time and care for walking. At each food stop we got a little history and a nice taste. Roberta also encouraged some conversation amongst our group, which was nice. (And I am an introvert who usually doesn’t like such things!) The last stop was a very lovely surprise of charcuterie. The meats and cheeses were delicious and it was the best bruschetta I have ever had! Overall we were extremely happy about our choice of activities in this port. Especially after hearing about some of our fellow sailors’ day in Rome.
