Connected to the rest of the world by a 300-meter bridge, Civita di Bagnoregio is a charming village that feels like a step back in time. The Romanesque Arch at the entrance was built by the Etruscans 2,500 years ago, and the facade is all that remains of the Renaissance Palace, the rest having collapsed into the canyon. Visit the largest Piazza, which hosts donkey races on the first Sunday of June and the second Sunday of September. In the evening, the piazza is the social hub of the town. Don’t miss Maria’s Garden; follow the main road to the far side of town to find this lovely garden with canyon views. Afterward, transfer to Bomarzo.
