Highlights
  • Zona Arqueologica de Muyil - If you want to get to know the flora and fauna of the region, this trip is perfect for you.

We will start our day with a visit to the unique archaeological zone

  • Muyil, a hidden gem in the Mayan jungle. It is not difficult to meet monkeys hidden in the tropical forest.

It is a settlement that thanks to its geographical location maintains a long continuity of existence. The first evidence comes from the pre-classical period (300-50 BC), when the inhabitants also settled in northern and southern Belize. In the classical period there was noted a significant population growth and the Muyil relationship with the Yucatan Peninsula. This led directly to the growth of Muyil and construction of new buildings that are currently preserved.

After a walk in the rainforest, we will go to the lagoon of 7 colors named after the delicate shades of blue between its waters’ depths.

great tour - We booked this tour by viator because all te excursion of Tui were too expensive. This tour was great, we got picked up by our hotel, right on time. It was a long drive from Playa del Carmen but it was totally worth it. The temples in Muyil were really beautiful and it was great that there were no other people exxept for our group. Once arrived in Bacalar, we had a short time to see the fort from the outside, but we couldn't go in there. Afterwards we went to the lagoon. Sadly it was a rainy day, but the lagoon was still very pretty. The tour overview is exactly what you will do and see. Just the cenotes are open spots in the lagoon, not like the caves. The lunch, in a traditional Mexican restaurant, was the best food we had during our time in Mexico. Paulina is the nicest guide we have ever had. She told a lot about everything and was very kind. . Nice to go in a small group. Really recommand this tour.
