- Haedong Yonggungsa - This remarkable site provides visitors with the unique experience of a temple located by the shoreline, as most temples in Korea are found in the mountains. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple was originally constructed in 1376 by the esteemed Buddhist teacher Naong during the Goryeo dynasty.
The temple’s main sanctuary was carefully reconstructed in 1970, with a focus on preserving the traditional colors used in such structures. To the right, within a cave, lies a distinctively designed Buddhist sanctum, while directly in front of the main sanctuary stands a three-story pagoda adorned with four lions. These lions represent joy, anger, sadness, and happiness. Other notable features of the temple include the 108 stairs and stone lanterns that line the rocky terrain. After descending the 108 steps, visitors are rewarded with the temple’s stunning beauty. Halfway down the steps, one can pause to enjoy the soothing sound of the waves and witness the breathtaking sunrise.

Following the Korean War, the market established itself as a fish market. The majority of the fish sellers are women, known as Jagalchi Ajumeoni, with “ajumeoni” meaning middle-aged or married woman in Korean.
This market is emblematic of Busan and is renowned nationwide. Visitors can enjoy fresh raw fish right at the market. Even today, visitors can observe women selling mackerel, sea squirts (ascidians), and other seafood on wooden boxes along the road outside the market and by the shore.

Yongdusan Park - Yongdusan Park, which houses Busan Tower and 70 different species of trees, is a favorite relaxation spot for the city’s residents. It is named Yongdusan because the mountain’s shape resembles a dragon.
Yongdusan Park spans approximately 69,000 ㎡.
There are cafes and the Busan Aquarium. The night view of the city from the 120-meter-high Busan Tower is a must-see.
There is also a statue of Admiral Lee Sunsin, a distinguished commander of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910), and a monument to the 19.4 revolution, the anti-government student revolt. - Busan Gamcheon Culture Village - This location is one of the most iconic places showcasing the challenging lives of refugees after the Korean War. It has now become a popular tourist destination in Busan, featuring colorful and beautiful houses, murals, and artworks.
Here, visitors can savor the tastes of “moolbangul tteok” (raindrop rice cake), “kkul aiseukurim” (honey ice cream), and “mashimello aiseukurim” (marshmallow ice cream). - Songdo Skywalk - Among Busan’s four skywalks, this one is the largest and most stunning, making it the only location where an admission fee is required. Imagine standing on a bridge, suspended 25 meters above the sparkling blue waters, with panoramic views of the bustling Busan coast. This impressive pedestrian bridge connects the scenic Amnam Park to the uninhabited Dongdo Island, offering a unique vantage point to appreciate the natural beauty of South Korea’s coastal city. Originally established in 1965 and later rebuilt in 2020, it spans 127 meters, providing a stable yet exhilarating walkway high above the sea. This isn’t just a bridge; it’s a gateway to some of Busan’s most picturesque landscapes. Whether you’re a photographer seeking the perfect shot, a nature enthusiast looking for tranquility, or someone who appreciates architectural beauty, this bridge is a must-visit. Be sure to include the Songdo Yonggung Cloud Bridge in your Busan itinerary for an unforgettable experience!
