The picturesque drive and walking tour begin in Christchurch, trailing up the Port Hills via the historic Dyer’s Pass road then southward along Summit Road to Gebbies Pass.

The hike commences and concludes at Gebbie’s pass, and spans roughly 11km (6.8 Mi) typically requiring 3-4 hrs to and from the hut from Gebbie’s Pass, inclusive of a lunch break at Packhorse hut.
