- Waimakariri River - As we make our way through the Selwyn District you will be greeted by the Gorgeous little western town of Springfield where we make our turn off towards Alpine Jets. Here you will spend time experiencing the wonders of the Waimakariri, it’s no wonder Jet Boating was developed here in Christchurch! For those that have decided to not add this onto their tour, there are walks, views and sheep cuddles to enjoy.

Nestled deep within New Zealand’s Southern Alps lies Arthur’s Pass. Your journey along the Great Alpine Highway will be filled with a myriad of breathtaking landscapes that continually shift in appearance. The tour will showcase incredible engineering feats, magnificent waterfalls, and well-known filming sites.
Your experience begins with a pick-up from your selected lodging before we set off towards Arthur’s Pass. Our knowledgeable and sociable guide will direct your attention to spectacular sceneries along the way. The tour offers a plethora of diverse sights, ranging from verdant fields and rugged mountain ranges, to dense forests and glacial lakes and rivers!
We have numerous stops planned along the way, so rest assured, you won’t be confined to the van all day, despite its comfort. Moreover, we won’t miss out on those essential Instagrammable locations! The day concludes with a ride on the globally renowned TranzAlpine train back to the city.

Bus Interchange (Intercity stop)
We only pick up from locations we have been notified of. Please make sure you let us know your pick up location will be the bus interchange. Please be waiting at the Intercity Bus Stop on Lichfield Street. It is recommended that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your pick up time.

An American in New Zealand - The day was not without wonder & all the natural beauty that I saw before me! Mark paired me with the perfect adventure keeping in mind the time I had to spend in New Zealand & his vast knowledge of this beautiful country. Looking forward to what’s next when I return.

A day-trip to remember! - We had an excellent tour with Clive, doing the full day Arthurs Pass tour, visiting many sites on the way to Arthurs Pass, snacks and a packed lunch was provided as well oppotunity to buy a little bit extra.
The highlight for us was the chance to go on a jet boat up the Waimakariri river (for an extra charge) and exploring Castle Hill, before taking the Tranz Alpine back to Christchurch, which offered a chance to relax and soak in the sights once again.

Great variety in a day - Van was comfortable, and drinks with snacks were appreciated. Lunch was ok but not great. Guide was engaging and personal. Selection of stops was nice. They could have been shorter but I know timing was important. A good day in general. Food on train was pretty sad though.

Great - Great landscapes! Our guide Clive was very nice and knowledgeable. It is good option for people traveling without a car. Also a nice way to experience the train trip without needing to take it both ways

The best experience! - We took the tour to Arthurs Pass with my parents when they were visiting New Zealand and it was the best decision! The booking process was super simple and hassle-free. The driver was very knowledgeable about the area and answered all of my dad's questions (and there were a lot) in the friendliest way possible. The number of stops was perfect since I felt like we got to know the place very well without running from one place to the other.
If you have the opportunity, book this tour because it is worth it!

New experience. - The overall experience was enjoyable but it was not what I expected. We were picked up at 9:00 and retuned about 8:00pm. The drive to the train took most of the day and the train ride was a few hours. That was not what I expected but it turned out to be fun. We did spend extra time at the destinations which seemed unnecessary . The price was high but we enjoyed it.

Well organised and a great day out seeing some amazing places. - Our guide, Willem, was great, he was very informed and friendly. It was a lovely group too - it wasn't too big to be impersonal like some tours can be. The places we saw were fantastic, wonderful views and Willem had some great stories too. The train ride back was also awesome, even though it was running late and Willem met us at the other end to make sure we were dropped off safely at our stops, despite the lateness of the train. Well organised and well worth it.

Not worth it - Everything went smooth but this trip didn't deliver enough for the price. The tranzalpine railway is overrated and the train needs some cleaning!

An Amusing Adventure with a Well-Meaning Guide - I embarked on a day of adventure with a guide whose enthusiasm outshone their competence. While the mishaps were frequent, their friendly demeanor turned potential disasters into humorous anecdotes. The hefty price tag, however, left me questioning the overall value of the experience. A good day, but one that may be hard to justify to others considering the cost.
