Embark on a journey from Christchurch, soaring over the Canterbury Plains and head towards the majestic Rangitata Gorge, adjacent to the Southern Alps. Traverse Forest Creek to reach the wide Mackenzie Basin and descend to the aquatic radiance of Lake Tekapo for a grounded view and to drink in the stunning scenery. Take in the unparalleled blue of Lake Pukaki before heading to the renowned Aoraki, Mount Cook, with the Tasman Glacier in full spectacle. Continue flying to Murchison Glacier, followed by the pinnacle of the Rangitata River Valley. Glide alongside Mount Arrowsmith and land amidst the interlacing strands of the Rakaia River. Relax for a picnic, complemented by a clear view of two of Canterbury’s glaciers, exclusively reachable by helicopter. Post lunch, trail the meandering strands of the rocky river, beyond Lake Coleridge to the blockbuster landscapes of the Craigieburn Basin. Please be aware that the presence of snow cannot be guaranteed at any time, especially during the Summer months (November – February).
