Additional Information

Your journey begins in Chinchero, once a vital center in the Inca empire. Yet, it fell victim to the eradication of idolatry, which replaced indigenous deities with Catholic ones, transforming local religions. Next, explore Maras, a remarkable salt mining complex. These large salt deposits were often traded for goods from other regions of the empire. In contrast, Moray, an archaeological site offers an enigmatic layout of concentric circular terraces that some researchers believe was a site for agricultural experimentation. After some free time for lunch, you’ll visit Ollantaytambo, a classic representation of Inca urban planning. The site is often referred to as a fortress but was essentially a tambo, a resting and accommodation spot for travelers on long journeys. The grand finale sees you at Pisac’s citadel. Here, the local market teems with stalls where indigenous people exhibit and sell their handicrafts. At the end of the day, you’ll head back to your hotel.

 • Note: The visit to Maras is subject to changes during the months of December to March due weather reasons (rainy season).
 • It is important to inform us the name of the hotel where you are staying in order to coordinate your activity
 • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
 • Rates do not apply for Peruvians or foreign passengers whose stay exceeded 60 days in Peru because sales taxes are not included in the above total and, if applicable, will be collected by the local operator.
 • To visit Moray and Ollantaytambo fortress, it is important that you acquire your Cusco Tourist Ticket (BTC)
 • You should wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Sacred valley tour; Awana Kancha, Pisac market, Ollantaytambo - Awesome tour, worth every penny. This tour is the best. Our guide, Mr. Ruben is fantastic, he provided a lot of information about inca civilization, that you can not find anywhere! The lunch buffet is also very delicious and high quality. Although, if you visit these places yourself by taxi, it is much cheaper, but you won’t get the inside story from local people! Buy this tour and you won’t regret.

The new attractions are worth it - It used to be folks went to the sacred valley to eat and relax. The Chinchero ruins are not the most spectacular but are interesting with their setting basically in the town. While the Moray circles don't seem like much, a walk around them is interesting and cool. The Maras salt flats are amazing given their history and especially if you see people tending their plots. The ruins at Ollantaytambo are some of the best in the entire area - second only to Machu Picchu.

We had a superb tour with our tour... -
We had a superb tour with our tour guide Oscar. I can't speak highly enough about his knowledge, perfect English, organizational skills and care of us. What a fine young man! This is a private tour and we had a driver who drove us all over the Sacred Valley in a mini van. It was comfortable and safe. Oscar used his iPad to illustrate and show us timelines of the Inca kings, map of Peru, geography and plants and animals that he was telling us about. He was enthusiastic and passionate about everything he showed us. We learned that as a guide he must have a five year university degree and proficiency in two languages besides Spanish. The lunch was a buffet in a beautiful restaurant. There was even a band that played just for us while we ate with Oscar! Superb service and delicious food. This trip is well worth the money and an excellent use of time.We could never have found the silversmith village, textile demonstration, restaurant and other amazing sights on our own. It was the highlight of our trip to Peru.

This trip was absolutely... -
This trip was absolutely unbelievable! Most people go to Cusco with the intent to see Machu Picchu but there is so much more and this day trip encompasses it all! Our tour guide Juan was absolutely wonderful - the tour was only suppose to be around 6 hours long but he spent much more time than that and was entirely patient with my group of 7. The views were spectacular and I didn't even realize that lunch would be included. There is so much history and architecture to see in Cusco and this tour was definitely worth it to get a taste of it all.
