Lots of history, small group - Communication before the tour was good. I was contacted by WhatsApp to reschedule due to maintenance going on in Coba, they gave me the option to refund and cancel or reschedule, which I did. Then the day before, they gave me pickup time. Pickup was around 6 AM at my hotel and on time. The van was comfortable, and I was offered water, juice, cookies and banana, but if you are used to a bigger breakfast, it’s best to take some snacks. We also did a toilet stop on the way, bring some coins to pay for using the toilet. We were with an English speaking guide, Antonio, who was very good. We were 7 who spoke English. There was also a Spanish guide for 2 Spanish people and a driver. The tour was awesome since we beat the crowds at each stop. We left early but that allowed us to enter Chichen Itza just as it was opening around 8.30, fewer crowds, and when we left around 10.30 big crowds were coming in. The ruins were exceptional, and our guide took many pictures of each person in the group. We then had around 45 min on our own. We then drove to the cenote. Facilities were clean, we also beat the crowds there for the swim and the buffet. Buffet was good. The swim was refreshing. When we left, big crowds were lining up for the buffet. Then we drove to Coba, which had less tourists there, it was quieter. It’s best to bring cash to explore the site. Since it is vast, you have the option of renting a bike, or hiring a tricycle (150 pesos to bring you there and back to the start), or you can walk. However since we were tired and it was hot, no one chose to walk. So bring some cash for that. I returned to my hotel around 5.30 PM. The day went by fast, interesting guide, I recommend it.

Great day learning Maya cultures - We had an amazing day with our driver Librado and guide Jesus. We got picked up at 6:30am punctually and back to hotel at 6:30pm. So it’s a whole day experience. Jesus is very knowledgeable and professional. I definitely learned a lot from him.

BEST Way to Tour Chichen Itza and Coba!! - Book this tour!! It’s a full-day excursion - we’re probably only going to see Chichen Itza once, and this was the best and most thorough way to experience it! We were picked up from our hotel north of Playa del Carmen at 5:30am (a couple staying closer to Cancun were picked up at 5:00am), and we picked up the remaining three guests on our way south. In total, there were eight guests (2 on the Spanish tour with Jesus and 6 on the English tour with Gabriel - amazing small groups)! We were texted our pick-up time the evening before, through What’s App. I had questions prior to the day and communicated through What’s App - the responses were prompt. I was also given the number of the tour guide, so I could communicate with them directly if needed. Make sure to clearly confirm your pick-up point with the company - the communication through What’s App confirmed we’d be picked up at the front desk, but Alberto came directly to the condo, so the organizer missed that communication with us. This is minimal, but worth noting. Gabriel (Gabo!) and Jesus were our tour guides and Alberto was our driver. Alberto was confident and safe in his driving - we all felt so safe with his driving that we each slept at various points on the bus. Alberto made sure we always had access to water bottles. Gabriel and Jesus were great and enthusiastic hosts, who were super knowledgeable and engaging. Leaving so early was worth it, because we arrived at Chichen Itza before most others. We were toured around “Old Chichen Itza” first and it was as though we were the only ones there. We spent sufficient time being toured around this site. The drive between this location and the cenote was perfect for a brief nap. Gabriel correctly suggested that we swim in the cenote first and then enjoy our buffet lunch, and that was perfect! We were in the water for about 45 minutes and had a half hour to eat lunch and enjoy our complimentary beer. After another quick post-lunch nap on the bus, we arrived at Coba. Here we had the option to walk, ride a bike around the ruins, or take a tricycle - you sit on the front (2 ppl max) and get driven around the site. Some of us rode bikes and others enjoyed being driven around. We were able to tour Coba quickly and efficiently, as our last stop! The cost for a bike or trike was minimal and worth it - $5USD per person. This tour stands out for many reasons, one of which is the thoroughness of the history that Gabriel shared with us. Another stand-out is the friendliness and enthusiasm of all three men, who made us feel comfortable and welcomed - what a great team! Attention to detail was a huge plus with this tour - these guys had tickets prepared, routes figured out and made sure we had access to washrooms consistently. The timing of this day was perfect and we never felt like the sites were crowded with people. It was also endearing that Gabo seemed to know many people - locals, other guides, people working on the sites, etc. and made sure to say hello to them throughout the day - we loved seeing the community that has been built based on this tourism. If you’re lucky enough to get this trio of hosts, it’s a guaranteed great day. However, based on the organization of the entire tour, I’m confident any group of guides would provide an awesome experience. Bring extra cash for the entrance fee to Chichen Itza ($40USD), for pay bathrooms (there was only one pay bathroom early in the morning for 10 pesos, the rest were free), for bikes/trikes, and to tip the guides and others along the way. They work really hard, we’re appreciative!

A long, well organized day - Our trip was very well organized. It's a long day, but the staff is very friendly and the van is comfortable. We chose this trip partly because of the 3h stop at Chichen Itza (2h escorted plus 1h free), which felt like an adequate amount of time. You get picked up very early, but it's worth it because you tour Chichen Itza right when it opens, so not too hot, not too crowded. The cenote visit is nice - it's a little small so feels a little crowded, but again, very well organized, clean, and the provided lunch was good. The final stop at Coba is interesting - much less developed than Chichen Itza but spectacular in it's own way. If you don't mind a long day of driving, highly recommend.

SPECTACULAR ONCE IN A LIFE TIME DAY - This tour was absolutely amazing. First let me just say for the LONG day of driving that was involved we were 100% thrilled with our transportation and the comfort along the way. We went with little children, a teenager and a few seniors in our group so that part mattered. We had plenty of time at Chichen Itza to explore on our own and take a tour and swim in the cenote By the way the cenote is freezing cold ( ; so you’re not really splashing around for too long, with that said when we went is was blazing hot so that swim was absolutely needed. The buffet was AMAZING & it was nice to just have a seat and relax before heading back out on the road to Coba. WOW Coba was another spectacular sight to see. Tip bring some cash to rent a bike taxi if you have kids. Most of the group mustard up the energy to walk the mile or so to see all the ruins but the kids were done. Plus the bike taxis were super fun for the kids. I can’t remember what we paid but it wasn’t a lot. Listen the day is long but I promise it goes by fast and you’re comfortable the entire way. Just take a nap on the long drive back, we did. ( ;

Great excursion - You is well organized and all is provided as written in the description. We seemed to be ahead of the crowd at Chichen Itsa and at the center. Lunch was top quality.

Amazing, wonderful, memorable. Book it. - The whole tour was amazing and exceeded expectations. Our guide Mimi was wonderful and knew so much history and had a great sense of humor. Coba was such a great surprise and we are so glad we were able to see it and Chichén Itzá.

Awesome ruins and cenote swim, lousy guide. - Outstanding ruins. Everything I thought it would be. Also, our shuttle left early and we were one of the first groups to arrive at Chichén Itzá. It made a big difference to beat the crowds and the heat. Not thrilled with our guide “Eder”. He was not very enthusiastic in his delivery during the tour and at times seemed almost annoyed at the questions we had for him. Would have appreciated more engagement. Also, we found it annoying that they hit us up for the entrance fee to the park (we assumed that everything was covered for what we paid for the excursion). And to add insult, they charged us $10 more than the admission fee to the park. The destinations were awesome (cenote and the meal there was awesome). At Cobá, our guide seemed a bit rushed to wrap things up and we missed one of the more interesting areas of the park as he hustled us back to the van. I will say that Viator was very easy to work with- they made it very easy for me when I called to reschedule the excursion due to a conflict.

Great guide, misleading price - We enjoyed the guide and the Cenote and Cova were both really nice. I didn’t like that we had to bring additional cash for the tickets to Chichen Itza and there were no towels at the Cenote. Also I had to sit in the back of the van and it was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in a vehicle, and there were nearly 7 hours of driving time. Next time I would book on a bigger bus.
