Amazing day of adventure, history and laughs. - We had a group of 18 friends that decided getting up for a 6am departure and a full day of exploring Mayan Ruins was a good idea. Turns out, it was! We got to Chichen Itza, Ik Kli cenote and Ek Balam with plenty of time to explore each.
We arrived at Chichen Itza at opening and our pro guide Gabriel got the first shady spot, got tickets squared away and then proceeded to share his vast knowledge of the area and people. Being one of the first there gave us a chance to see the sites without crowds of people. Getting up early was worth it in every way.. Plus the drive was a couple hours, so you could get some extra rest on the way.
Next stop down the road was Ik Kil cenote. Again, getting up early was clutch since we were one of a few when we got to the Cenote. Great setup with lockers and clean bathroom etc. the cenote itself was beautiful. I assume there are smaller and more rustic versions but with a group of 18, this was the right choice. We ate lunch after that which had some crazy good conchinita pibil and local beers.
Last stop was Ek Balam. While Chichen Itza was epic, important and huge.. it was also busy, protected and kinda corporate feeling. Ek Balam is more recently discovered and still feels like you just stumbled across it in the jungle. You can climb the main ruins to see an amazing tomb and even more awesome views. This place feels like more of a hike through the jungle than a museum.
Both of these are worth the trip if you can make it happen, but if you have to choose one, pick Chichen Itza if you want to check a box and Ek Balam if you want to experience your inner Josh Gates and feel like an explorer. Whatever you chose, pick Make your own (Gabriel) to get you there share their knowledge with you.

Absolutely amazing experience!! - This trip was absolutely amazing! Gabriel was the best!! Pick up was there ready for us at the time we chose. We had to do 9:30AM. He was so knowledgeable about chichen itza and friendly! Took us around and took pictures of us when we wanted them. Great guide and knew an answer to everything we wanted to know!
Cenote was absolutely beautiful. Lunch was great as well. Spent about 2.5 hours at chichen itza and about 1.5 at the cenote with lunch.
An absolutely amazing experience. 10/10 recommend and worth the extra money for the private transfer on a 2.5 hour drive from the resort. We did have to pay an additional $60 for pick up from Puerto Morelos instead of Cancun.

We had Miguel. He was... - We had Miguel. He was great, we went around Chichén Itzá and a cenote afterward. The car ride there and back was very smooth and Miguel was very knowledgeable.

Wonderful way to visit Chichen Itza - Miguel was very knowledgeable and brought us to amazing sites. No waiting in lines in this private tour. Very efficient. I highly recommend it.

Amazing experience beginning to end - We had an amazing time that exceeded expectations. Our driver Gabriel was right on time at 6am (I know early). But you are rewarded with minimal crowds and most of the grounds to yourself first thing. Gabriel was an excellent conversation partner on this long drive and once at Chichén Itzá was very insightful with the history. Same experience at the Cenote… because we left early we literally had the cenote to ourselves…. I can’t imagine this would be so with the giant tour buses.
Even the small off the beaten path restaurant was delicious. We also got back before 4pm and could still enjoy some daylight left. If you’re considering visiting Chichen Itza please book with this operator and chose to leave no later than 6/630am. You won’t be sorry!

Chichen itza tour to use - This was a great private trip experience. The ride was relaxing and comfortable. We beat the crowds in the morning to chichen itza. Gabrielle our guide was very knowledgeable about the Mayan history and walked us around the site. The cenote was really nice too! We were back at our hotel with day to spare.
Overall much better experience than I can imagine on one of the huge tour busses all day.

Brilliant time - Brilliant experience. Picked us up from the hotel on time at 6am and from start to finish couldnt have asked for more. The drive there included a stop for takeout coffee/breakfast, Valladolid, and we arrived well before the main crowds. Something that wouldnt have happened with standard tours. Enriziki (Sorry I wont have spelt this right) was hugely knowledgeable and spent time advising on history with passion and energy. We also had free time to wander round as much as we wanted. The trip to the cenote after was great and then on the drive home my husband got a local beer with chilli in which was a great last minute touch.
We chose this tour because I having come all this way from the UK we wanted something memorable. I didnt want to get a big coach tour and spend half my time doing pick ups or find myself only having an hour at chichen itza and no flexibility. Yes a private tour is slightly more expensive but chances are you're only going to do this once so in our book was so worth it.

Worth the expense! - Gabriel was terrific. On time, knowledgeable, flexible and friendly. We decided it was too cold for our interest in swimming cenotes so he took us to another myan ruins site that I had never heard off.

Excellent and honest service - We had Nefi as our tour guide. He was right on time to pick us up. We are a group of 5 people with a toddler and a kid under 10. He was wonderful in speaking to them and was very patient and answered them to every question they had.
He explained us well and gave precise information about chichen itza.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for tour.

Make Your Own Tour was the Best Day Spent in Cancun Area - We had the best day ever with Gabriel! We went to Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, tequila tasting, and a cenote. It was a long, beautiful tour with the most knowledgeable, interesting, and engaging guide, Gabriel. I can't recommend him enough. Make Your Own Tour is exactly that - we were able to choose where to go and Gabriel did a great job of timing everything perfectly so that we beat the crowds and the heat. Definitely worth the extra money to spend your time learning and exploring on a private tour instead of spending hours picking people up from several hotels in traffic, which I experienced on my last trip (and won't ever do again!).
