AMAZING EXPERIENCE - AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Jésus, Gabriel, and Marcel are amazing! We had such a great time touring Chichen Itza, Hibiku Cenote, and Ek Balam! We were so shocked at the depth of knowledge that Jésus provided us; we learned so much and highly recommend this tour to anyone looking into touring the ruins. Everything from the price, the transportation, to the small, intimate size of the group was absolutely perfect!!

Highly recommend this trip - Amazing trip! We were promptly picked up from our hotel and in a small group, taken to Chichén Itzá before it became busy. This was great as it meant we could have plenty of time, and photos, to take before the madding crowds. We went to the cenote which was also fantastic and had plenty of time there, again nice and quiet, before a delicious buffet lunch. Ek Balam was fabulous too with plenty of time to look around and we learned so much about the history of each place we went not to mention current Mayan culture. Our guide Jesus was so knowledgeable and a real gem. Our other guides and drivers were fantastic too. Highly recommend this trip, well worth it and we covered a lot in a day but it wasn’t at all tiring!! Thank you so much guys, Meryl and Ioan, Wales, UK

A packed day of adventure & history - It was a full day because we were picked up at 6:30am & dropped off at 8pm, so be prepared to be exhausted. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Our guide was very informative & our driver was excellent. We saw Chichen Itza early before the crowd rush, went to Hubiku cenote, had a buffet lunch & went to Ek Balam. It was a full, busy day that kept my teens happy with adventure & me intrigued with history. Our guide & driver were so helpful & informative & even after dealing with a flat tire delay, gave us enough time to enjoy every site. I strongly recommend if you’re looking for history & adventure & have the energy to go a full day.

Unforgetable Maya Experience - An experience you will never forget. I wanted to visit Mayan pyramids and cities since learning about them as a child and it was truly worth the wait. Words and photos cannot describe the experience of actually walking through the archeological site and looking up at these amazing structures and learning about the culture and people who would have built the structures and lived here. For me this was the perfect tour from start to finish. The limited group made it very personal and easy to ask questions. Our group was 12 people and at the sites, we separated into two smaller groups; one of English and the other of Spanish speakers. Edar was our guide and was a wealth of knowledge. During the drive to the site, he informed us of what to expect and gave us background information of the site. He also pointed out points of interests along the route. His ability to keep us all up-to-speed was amazing quickly giving information in Spanish and then immediately in English. He also could converse in other languages as well. How long is this tour exactly, you may ask. The answer is very long, for my husband and I, it started with a 5:00 a.m. pick up. The tour originates in the Playa del Carmen area and the driver picked us up first (a little over an hour drive one-way). Our driver Phillippe was excellent and arrived promptly at 5:00 a.m. He provided us with a bag containing fruit, juice boxes and cookies. Now it was time to pick up the remaining participants in the tour consisting of 4 more stops at various locations. By 7:00 a.m. all participants were on board and our guides. Chichen Itza is a 2.5 – 3 hour drive from Playa Del Carmen; Ek Balam is +/- an hours drive to Ek Balam. If you are going to make the drive, it makes sense to see both sites the same day. From Ek Balam to Playa Del Carmen is just over 2 hours to return. It ended up being a 15-16 hour day for us since we were first picked up and last to be dropped off. Chitchen Itza is very open and beautiful. The open grounds allow you to see the mass of the building easily. The history is amazing. This tour gets you to the site as they are opening which is a huge plus especially if you want to take pictures without a bunch of people in the shots. We were given an informative tour and explanation of the site. After the tour we were given a solid hour to walk around and enjoy. As we regrouped to leave the site was filling with tourist. The parking lot was completely full and people were surging in and we were happy we were leaving and not caught in the crowds. Our next stop was lunch and the Hubiku Cenote. Both are located at the same site making it very convenient and cut down on the drive time. The food was served buffet style and you pay for your beverages only. The food was amazing. The cenote was beautiful with vines hanging from the opening with water trickling down the vines into the water below. Water was crystal clear, very refreshing and not to cold. Restrooms/changing area very clean and neat. You can choose whether to swim or eat first. Was nice to be able to relax, rest and enjoy. Ek Balam was a short drive and totally unique. This site allows you to climb the stairs of the buildings and well worth the effort to see the views from the top. Here again we were given an informative tour that gave us the knowledge of what we were looking at and how these sites are excavated and undergo restorative work to protect them. The climb to the top of the temple is very steep and a bit challenging but worth the effort. You can break in several areas and view restored carvings on one of the levels before finishing the climb. From the top you get a unique perspective of the city and in the far distance you can just make out the Coba site. We were again given time to walk around the site and climb the various buildings which was amazing. This site is in the jungle and did not have as many tourist which also made it more special. You can see buildings that are still covered by the jungle and have not been uncovered which allows you to see just how intensive the work is to bring these sites to a point where they can be safely viewed. Our driver was Phillippe and he was a very safe and consciences driver. The second guide was Gabriel and he was with the second group; he was very friendly and accommodating. All the staff was wonderful. They kept you supplied with bottled water all day. You will need to bring your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and possibly wipe on bug spray. We did not need the bug spray on the day we went. My husband was a bit overwhelmed by the drive but in the end said he would do it again and was glad we took the adventure. Amazing experience that won’t disappoint.

Unforgettable experience - The trip was fantastic! Everything was on time and well organized. Due to the fact that Ek Balam was closed, we got an offer to visit Coba - a real hit! Maria, our guide, was fantastic in providing all the knowledge about Mayan life. In Coba we rode bikes through the jungle, my 15-year-old daughter and we were delighted, real fun! Swimming in the Cenote was the most beautiful experience of my life!!!! The whole trip was wonderful! I recommend it! No one will ever take these memories away from you!

Fabulous! - This excursion to two Mayan sites and a cenote was really amazing - my son and I are so glad to have experienced a little piece of Mayan history. The absolute highlight was climbing the temple at Ek Balam. The guide Oscar, was full of knowledge and relayed a lot of the mythical stories associated with Mayan culture. Both the driver and the guide of this small Group tour were wonderful and super kind and supportive. We were happy and exhausted at the end of the day, and would highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful experience - I originally went on this trip some time in late December of 2020 and am finally getting around to writing this review. I booked this trip because it was the only trip doing Chichen Itza and Ek Balam pyramid complexes in one trip. I had already been to Tulum and Coba which are usually the second Mayan ruins usually paired with Chichen on most tours. For the reason stated above I felt the steep price was justified. Due to its price, it ended up being a private tour lol. Just me, my guide and the driver. Pickup was bright and early, I think it was at around 5 in the morning. The drive to Chichen Itza was long but smooth. When we arrived to a stop halfway through the drive to get snacks and coffee another passenger joined us. It was a Mayan local that started telling me about his culture and the Mayan calendar. He showed me a calendar that supposedly gave his birthday in hieroglyphic form which I thought was cool. It turns out that for 20-30 minutes he was trying to sell me a souvenir, basically that for $20 US he could make me my own Mayan birth certificate. I will admit it is the first time in my life when I felt I was going to try to buy this even if it wasn’t for sell, I was about to ask him how much would it cost to make me one when he went ahead and told me he could make me one lol. Anyway, I gave him the $20 and he got off the van and said that my Mayan birth certificate would be ready by the time I finished my visit to Chichen. My tour guide was a wise older gentleman in his late 50s early 60s. He definitely knew what he was talking about and answered all my questions. I felt like a VIP during my whole time there since I didn’t have to wait in any lines (compared to those large tour buses with 50+ people, who also have to share 1-2 tour guides) My tour guide told me I had all the free time I wanted since I was the only person, I made the schedule and would decide when to leave. About 1.5 hours later I felt I had enough time to explore, take pictures and returned to the my tour guide, and the van there after. The Mayan man had called my tour guide which then coordinated where to meet to pickup my Mayan birth certificate. It came out amazing, I currently have it hanging on my wall as a type this all nicely framed. Definitely my favorite souvenir from my trip to the Riviera Maya hands down. We made a 1 hour stop at Hubiku for food. On this occasion the place was empty and after I ate I went to explore a little and sampled some local mezcal of all sorts of flavors even the bees couldn’t stay away. The last stop (and also the last ruins I visited during my whole trip) was Ek Balam. The pyramid complex is amazing and yet it was pretty empty. I got lucky and was given permission to climb to the top of several pyramids which was one of the highlights of my trip. To be up close and observe the meticulous detail of the carvings and inscriptions definitely left me with a deeper appreciation for the Mayan culture. The day ended with a long drive back to Playa where I thanked my tour guide and driver they were definitely the best. Today I have a black cat that I named Ek Balam (which means Black Jaguar) and is the reason I remembered to write this review haha.

Ruines, buffet, and cenotes, oh my!!! - It was well timed by visiting Chichén Itzá early before the rush of tourists and before it got too hot. Our driver Felipe was right on time and confirmed our pick up time the night before, just to make sure he would get here when he said. Our tour guide Ediberto was a wealth of knowledgeable since he grew up in this area and has been going to these temples for many decades. The cenote was even more beautiful than the photos and perfect for cooling down after being out in the sun. I recommend swimming before you eat at the nearby buffet, since then it gives you time to dry before you get back in the van. The final ruins were much less touristy and more laid back which I loved. You could climb on and go into the ruins. It is a beautiful view from the top of the palace above the canopy of trees but it’s a lot of steep steps, so be careful. Overall, it was a memorable experience and I will recommend it to anyone coming here. The all-inclusive aspect allows one to relax and simply take in all the incredible sights and experiences.

The driver did not show... - The driver did not show up, and they cancelled the trip half hour after the supposed pick up time. We lost a day of excursion because of this
