A hidden treasure in plain sight on Michigan Ave - I can’t count the number of times that I exclaimed, “Come on,” at what we saw and learned. A complete gem of a building, both in terms of architecture and history. Ronnie is knowledgeable and a great storyteller. We enjoyed visiting artist studios, including an impromptu visit to a luthier on the fifth floor. Excited to learn about second Fridays and looking forward to visiting again!

Fascinating chance to explore this historic, dynamic, creative space - I so enjoyed my indoor tour today of the Fine Arts Building, with Ronnie of Doorways of Chicago. On a bitter cold snowy day it was a treat to visit this iconic place. Ronnie had lots of information to share about the history, both of the design and construction, as well as the colorful characters who have called this building their professional home. He did a tremendous job giving an overview of the creative tenants and their work both within and beyond this structure. There was something delightful to see on every floor, from the stunning lobby, to the charming elevators, to the woodwork and mural details. The opportunity to peek into a couple of studios of today's working artists, proves this special place continues to be a vibrant and varied contemporary arts community.
