How wrong that landlord was. Today, the franchise - which includes cafes, casinos and hotels - can be found in more than 63 countries. The franchise owns the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia, and you can see it on display at its locations around the globe.

One of the best! IT ROCKS. - This is one of the best Hard Rocks that I’ve ever been to. Great shop, great beer, great rock memorabilia, and the staff are great. I strongly recommend a visit when you visit Chicago!

Big Portions & a Warm Welcome - The Hard Rock Cafe Chicago can't be missed owing to the giant illuminated guitar on the corner of West Ontario Street. We visited on a Monday evening and sadly missed the Happy Hour (4pm-7pm) as we had had a busy day exploring Chicago but as we arrived for our 7:45pm table reservation we found the restaurant to be fairly quiet - better safe than sorry! We were given a very warm welcome and were led to a window table with a good view of the illuminated guitar. Our server was very friendly, interested in our story and gave us all the attention we needed. She had worked all around the USA including Honolulu, a place she clearly loved. To get us started we ordered a pint of draft Budweiser and two pints of draft Bud Light ($5.25 each) and these were served with complimentary glasses of iced water. The drinks menu was pretty comprehensive. Having over indulged at a Hard Rock Cafe before, we hesitated on what food to order and decided to have an appetizer to share between our party of three. We went for the Jumbo Combo and it arrived swiftly with a selection of onions rings, spring rolls, battered chicken goujons, sticky BBQ buffalo wings, bruschetta topped with diced tomato and parmesan cheese and a range of dips ($20.95). The portion was adequate for us and didn't overly fill us - at least that is what we thought until the entree arrived! For our main course we chose: Twisted mac and cheese ($18.50), served with grilled chicken and garlic bread; Beef fajitas ($20.95), served sizzling to the table with a sliced steak, warm wraps, fillings including guacamole. Oddly, we had noticed that the guacamole came with an additional charge if ordered with nachos for an appetizer, but not for this entree dish; and The Local Legend Burger ($16.95). This had a very vague description in the menu as each burger is personalised to each Hard Rock Cafe. I asked for the "lo-cal" burger and the server thought I was asking for a low calorie burger (British accent must have thrown her). Once she knew what I meant, she said she would surprise me with it and hinted "It is very Chicago!" The burger arrived open topped, with both halves made up to be like a pizza. A pizza and burger in one! Flavours were intense and the portion size was hefty. The customary fries were tasty, crispy but sadly too salty. We should have known we couldn't finish the portions and ended up taking our leftover food back to the hotel. Clearly our eyes are bigger than our bellies! The check duly arrived and was as follows: Food and drink $93.10 Tax $10.71 Total $103.81 The recommended gratuities were 20% ($18.62) or 18% ($16.76) and we had no issues with paying the higher amount. Our two hour visit was over before we knew it and we perused the musical artifacts and memorabilia around the restaurant before we left. A highlight for us was the 19th century music box owned by Elvis Presley. Incidentally our next visit to Hard Rock Cafe is in Memphis, Tennessee, next week!

Meh - Great music choices which makes the atmosphere fun. A little too close to other tables for comfort during covid times. I always appreciate a place with gluten free buns. My daughter got the kids chicken fingers but didn’t like them….I could see why. The outside was super crunchy. Our seasoned fries were barely seasoned. But it was fine. It’s Hard Rock…not some fine dining. One of the cheaper places we went in downtown Chicago.

Just Another Hard Rock - We visited the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago recently. As you might imagine, We were excited to visit one we've never been to before. What we found was a cookie-cutter Hard Rock with no personality of it's own. Not that it was bad, it was just kinda there and that's about it. Food is typical. Souvineirs are typical. Stop in long enough to buy a shirt or pin for your collection, but tell the taxi driver to just stand by. You won't be in there long. The Hard Rock Cafe company seems to have lost it's edge. Instead of being unique and exciting, this one, as most, are just blah. That's about it. Go if you want or not. It won't make much difference in your life.

Very disappointing - Food was ok however although burger bap was toasted it was very cold (must have been toasted a while) given the price charged I was very disappointed. Drinks took a long time to arrive and eventually when they arrived one was missing, long-standing member of Hard Rock Cafe Club I have visited many all over the world. This is the last meal I will ever eat at HRC.

Horrible! - For starters, due to Covid, they were working on reduced hours but they still allowed reservations with the latest time being 9 pm. Here's where the problems began. We made a reservation on Open Table for 9 pm. W e got there and was seated. We were approached by the waiter who proceeded to tell us they close at 9. Well sir that's a problem because this location accepted a 9 pm reservation. He had an attitude and told us "well it even says it on Google" which didn't matter considering that there were reservations still being accepted. He rushed our drink orders because of the time and we told him, we were waiting on another person to arrive he said ok. When the other person arrived, the doors were locked and they couldn't get it so we opened the door ourselves to let her in. The service was horrible and I have never in my life been rushed like that when it wasn't our fault they accepted our reservation but decided to close at 9 on a Saturday night. I'll never return.

Not feeling it. - We ❤️ visiting Hard Rock cafes as we travel or vacation, BUT this one was by far the worst!!! Server seemed annoyed (he did have a trainiee). Would only offer refills on our alcoholic drinks. Had to get the trainiee to bring us Waters and sodas My son's order of salmon, potatoes, and greenbean was ice(I'm not kidding) cold. He was so hungry he still ate it. My daughter and I split the fajatas for two (steak & shrimp) we were only able to two small tacos from the lack of meat: all veggies were raw. We went on a Saturday night just before 5.30 we were one of three tables they had. Extremely Disappointed!! 😭😭😭
