Here’s how it works: You and your team will work together to find clues, solve puzzles, and ultimately complete a mission. Escaping will require teamwork, communication, wits, a sense of adventure, and most importantly: YOU!

- The Heist: Recover a stolen masterpiece from an art thief!

Situated in River North, these escapades provide a singularly outstanding experience. Work out the clues and crack the codes to achieve your shared objective. You may break free… But you’ll definitely enjoy the ride!
Opt to participate in one of five distinct immersive games:
- Gold Rush: Hunt down buried gold in the hills of California!
- Prison Break: Pull off a bold breakout from the menacing jailor!
- Special Ops: Mysterious Market: Unravel the truth in the role of a covert operator!
- The Heist: Reclaim a purloined masterpiece from a cunning art burglar!
- Mission: Mars: Initiate your spaceship’s liftoff from the Martian surface!
- Games are recommended for ages 13 and up. Younger players are allowed, but some of the game content may be too difficult for them. An adult, 18 or older, must participate with anyone that is 14 and under. Also, any participants under the age of 18 will need an adult to sign their waiver.
- You will be in a room with a locked door, but every door is equipped with an exit button. Should you feel the need to leave the room, you are welcome to do so at any time.
- Each game is designed for one hour of intense fun! Plan to spend 15 minutes prior to each game preparing and briefing for your mission, and 15 minutes after each game to debrief and take photos.
- The Escape Game experiences are very different from what you typically see in other escape rooms. These games aren’t scary or dark. They are exciting, adventurous, and something all guests can enjoy.
- Unless you book all the spots in a game, our games have the potential to be shared experiences, which means others could book into your game and join your team.

Definitely put aside an hour for The Escape Game! - Great location. We had a great experience doing the "gold rush room." Nathan was our game master and was very helpful and fun. We were by ourselves in our time slot, and we didn't make it out. Had we another pair of eyes and hands, the outcome might have been different. Still was fun and highly recommended 👌

One of the Best Escape Rooms we’ve Done - We were in town just for a few days and wanted to do something as a family that was a little different. The staff were great and the games were fun with a little challenge. Our 7 year old was able to contribute in both rooms that we tried and helped us escape both in time. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

We had a great time, even... - We had a great time, even though we didn’t break out a prison, it was such a fun enjoyable time. The crew is very helpful very polite. Will definitely do it again and bring some new friends with us.

Izzie was AWESOME! - Izzie was the most amazing game master - she was so fun and helpful (even though we tried our best to not use clues). The gummies she gave us at the end were so sweet - literally and figuratively, of course! Love the Escape Game Chicago, the rooms are so detailed and unique.

FANTASTIC Experience, Wonderful Staff - I cannot say enough good things about The Escape Game Chicago! My 13 year old son and I booked the Mars Room during a short trip to the city last Friday, and were the only ones there on a winter morning. The staff was welcoming, professional and friendly, and got us started right away. I love that this place offers unlimited hints, and they clarified first HOW we would like hints - only on request, or also when they noticed us struggling. We said to hint whenever, and the hints they gave us throughout the game were just helpful enough to poke us in the right direction without taking the joy of discovery away from us. The Mars room was great for two people - it's pretty linear so we worked together to solve all the puzzles. We've done a few other rooms in other places, and these puzzles seemed more creative than most - not repeating the same kind over and over again. The room was really immersive and intense (but not scary), with multiple rooms and lots of audio and visual elements.
Once we finished, we actually left the building, walked down the block, and then impulsively went BACK to try another room (plus you get 40% off for doing a second room!). We loved the Gold Rush room even more - very cool world-building, awesome visuals, incredibly creative puzzles, multiple rooms, challenging enough but also solvable for the two of us.
The best part of our experience was by far the wonderful staff - they were so kind and enthusiastic, and they even made me a cup of coffee when I mentioned being under-caffeinated - I honestly could have cried with gratitude the moment the timer stopped on the room and the door popped open to a staffer holding out a mug and offering me a "coffee break." We were visiting for my son's birthday and they made a very big deal of it - he has told everyone we've seen since then about it!

Amazing time at the Special Ops escape room with Mitch - We had an amazing time as a group of five friends at the Special Ops. Mitch was an awesome game master and definitely left us wanting for more. Will be back again!

The best game in town - I’ve done 4 of 5 rooms at The Escape Game and escape rooms all over the city. The Escape Games they are by far my favorite. Production quality is amazing, game design is seamless, staff is friendly and gives great clues.

Great experience, even my teenagers loved it! - My family had a great time doing the prison break escape room, we beat it with 3 seconds to spare. The team here was great and even my teenagers had a great time! It was my daughters birthday and the team went out of their way to make sure she felt special and had a great time, including a bday surprise at the end!! I can't thank Brandon and Caroline enough.
