Discover the life and contributions of Louis Comfort Tiffany by exploring some of Chicago’s most exquisite art-glass and mosaic pieces, all produced by the Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company.
During the late 1800s, the Arts and Crafts movement reignited an appreciation for ornamental glass. Prestigious homes and public facilities of the time were believed to be incomplete without these decorative glassworks or mosaics. Louis Comfort Tiffany, as the leading figure in this field, rose to prominence after designing a chapel for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. As of now, Chicago boasts one of the largest assemblages of Tiffany art glass in the United States. This guided tour presents a selection of Tiffany’s outstanding creations.

Gorgrous Tiffany Glass and Mosaics Across Chicago! - I was so delighted to find out that the CAC offers a Tiffany walking tour because I've always admired Tiffany glass. The Tiffany walking tour shows you some of the magical work created by Tiffany studios over the years. Who knew we had so many Tiffany gems in Chicago?! Well, on this tour you get to tour my favorite building (Chicago Cultural Center) and see the illustrious Tiffany dome and more. You'll also get to check out the Tiffany mosaic ceiling inside Macy's on State Street AND check out a gorgeous mosaic art piece in the Marquette building. Take this light walking tour to see some magnificent glass and mosaic work across downtown Chicago!

An inside visit to the Tiffany company's exceptional design work - Our docent was so knowledgeable about the locations of Louis Comfort Tiffany's major work in the downtown area of Chicago...all in buildings we might not randomly go in, or in interiors we might not look up in. An excellent 90 minutes of exploration (mostly in air-conditioning, hooray!) and education and beauty.

Stunning Tiffany - The glass was fabulous and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I was blown away by the beauty of the glass. The fact that these spaces are available to the public makes it even more special!

Beautiful work revealed with passion. - Another great tour with a well-informed and passionate volunteer docent. Some of these works are hidden in plain site in the Chicago Cultural Center and Macy's. We visited the Marquette Building to view a stunning lobby by Tiffany.

A True Art Experience - The Guide was great. Very knowledgeable and relatable. The Tiffany pieces she showed us in three buildings ( Chicago Cultural Centre, Macy's and the Marquette Building) were amazing. We also saw the Chagall mural and the Picasso sculpture. Definitely worth doing. A true art experience.

Good Guide, Beautiful Sights - Tour guide Priscilla was knowledgeable and had photos and examples to show the group. The mosaics, glass domes, and building decorations were stunning. It was an unseasonably Hot day, & she took us on an underground pedestrian walkway, which was cooler, where she could show us even more stained glass. I recommend this tour.
