Epic small scale organic coffee farm adventure - Jack’s hill tribe coffee tour in the Chiang Mai mountains are a great day out for coffee lovers or people that just want to be in nature and experience and lean more about small scale organic farming. Suitable for couples, small groups or even solo travelers as myself. I leaned a lot about coffee, from picking coffee cherries from the tree, to roasting and how to make the perfect poor over. Really recommend this authentic tour. As someone who likes to avoid over crowded tourist attractions, this is the perfect experience. Jack is funny and very knowledgeable.

Fun and informative! - This tour was unique, fun, and super informative. I learned so much about the coffee-making process from start to finish. It was super fun to take home beans we roasted, and learn how to do a professional pour-over. Beyond that, of the 2 weeks I was visiting Thailand this was by far the most culturally authentic experience I had. If you are wanting an opportunity to get a feel for what life is like for the Karen villagers who live in the mountains of Chiang Mai, this is it. We had an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal prepared from food grown on the property, as well as tasting home-made whiskey. Everyone was great. Jack is super knowledgeable about coffee, and Sarah captures some great photos. Moonshine was wonderful to spend time with too. I left my sunglasses at the mountain, and he went out of his way to meet us and return them. This was an amazing, memorable day that I would recommend to anyone looking for a less touristy experience. A few things to be mindful of: this tour requires a lot of walking in the forest. It is a good idea to wear suitable shoes, have sunscreen, and bug spray. I did get a few bug bites but nothing too extreme.

A great experience - We had a great time at the coffee tour! Jack was very charismatic and knowledgable on everything coffee wise, and his English was very good. The trek was great (be sure to wear comfy shoes!), we planted our own coffee plant, learnt to roast and got a coffee dripping lesson. He also introduced us to hill tribe life, we got to meet the people and enjoyed their tasty food. Highly recommended!

Rich, authentic experience in Chiang Mai - We spent a memorable day, thanks to Jack and his partners in the hilltribe village. We were looking for an authentic tour to see how these people really live and this is the impression we took home. No people dressed up in traditional costumes selling craft objects for tourists here. Instead, we discovered genuine hill folk (the tour takes you to the top of a mountain), making a living from farming and coffee and happy to share it with others. Jack has created a great team, very generous with their time and willingness to pass on their knowledge. After a highly interesting morning trekking to the coffee plantation and planting our own baby coffee tree, (complete with individual label!), we enjoyed a very tasty vegetarian lunch, made from produce from the farm, in an idyllic, remote setting, before setting down to a workshop all about making the perfect brew to suit our own taste. It was great fun and we were even given our own roasted beans to take away. We can only highly recommend this authentic and instructive experience and congratulate Jack on creating a tour with sustainability in mind and with the aim of supporting the hilltribe village.

Incredible, best tour of my trip to Thailand! - Amazing experience. Our guide was kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. He and his wife, who run the company, went to great lengths to give us an incredible day. Picked us up at our hotel, drove us to a coffee farm where we met the organic coffee farmer. Then up to the mountaintop in a van, then on foot. Our guide and the farmer stopped many times to show is local plants and insects used for medicinal reasons by the tribes people. We then picked coffee beans, and planted one coffee plant with our name on it. After returning to the farm, we were given an educational presentation about the proper technique of routing and brewing coffee. We were shown how to roast the beans and got to roast our own beans. We were then given the beans to take home as a souvenir. Also, the lunch was amazing! Made by the farmer's mother. Overall, an exceptional experience, the best tour of my trip to Thailand!
