Worth visiting - Interesting. We did the self guided tour, I'm not sure there is a guided option, but if there is it wasn't available when we visited. A lot of interactive displays. A lot of reading if you want to spend time to learn things in more detail. Worth the visit. Reasonably priced- £18.50 for two adults and a 9 year old. We spent 2 hours walking around it at our leisure. There were other visitors who seemed to rush through the displays quicker than us, but we never felt cramped.

Amazing, factual and funny. Why is this so low on the list of things to do? It should be number 1! Toilet section 5**** - This museum is a total hoot. We can’t recommend it highly enough. An old church converted into a museum about death. Our favourite bits were the sexual health section which had great diagrams and the alternative medicine section. They even managed to get Harry Potter involved. Not for the faint hearted or under 10s but worth every penny.

Excellent activity to educate and interest all the family - Absolutely fantastic. Really interactive for kids and a creative and imaginative way to educate and inform. Would definitely recommend, especially if the kids like a bit of gruesome and utterly grotesque.

Amazing - Found this hidden gem whilst on a trip to Chester. Situated in an old church it was an interesting journey through the history of medicine. There was plenty to see and do with hands-on exhibits. Would recommend to others.

Death In The Old Days - This is a cool place to take the kids although they might be frightened by some of the exhibits! The museum explores the gory story of diseases, doctors and dying in the medieval world with a balance of hands on fun, amazing museum artefacts and epic science. I found it all fascinating and interesting.

Fascinating and humoristic visit in medicine's dark nature; worth of a visit for both families and actual physicians. - Amazing museum, surely family-friendly, but still providing a lot of useful and interesting facts about medicine, its history, how it evolved over the centuries and with an appreciable and - yeah let's say it - healthy sense of humor. Just sad the videos in fake morgues were mostly not working and the souvenirs mostly centered around children, withouth books about topics explored during the visit. As an infectious disease physicians I was slightly sad, but I surely enjoyed the visit. You can complete the visit in one hour, but if you're into such themes, the visit can take much more

Fantastic gory informative afternoon out!! - Trip for older child's birthday. It was a fabulous place and so much was very imaginatively packed into the fantastic church setting. It was gory but informative and there was a lot to explore. Only niggles would be if it was busy you really wouldn't be able to fully explore each area so possibly times entry tkts is a better way to go. As some rooms would have spoilers if a few groups were trying to solve the questions at a time. Also some things needed a bit of a revamp. Maybe make a few more uv torches available and laminate and reprint the xray info sheets. And number the xray plates. But otherwise a fabulous place. Not for the faint hearted or very young but great for older kids...fans of horrible histories etc.

Good value for money and very interesting if medical science is your thing - Working in the NHS and taking my inquisitive 16 year old with me, we found it very interesting! Rather a lot of reading and I did start to get bored of all the reading after a bit, more talking at you would be good (press this button to hear about whatever). Some of the exhibits are starting to look a bit dated but looking at signs that because people have been abusing them which is a shame. All in all good value for money

Needs improvement - Overall experience was ok but not great. Majority of your time is spent reading. The whole experience felt it was put together on a low budget. The gift shop area was poor they missed the mark and sales opportunities. Take a page out of other attractions like the dungeons and improve videos and have people talking/reminiscing as characters. The price of a ticket is low for an attraction however in this case its too high.

In a wheelchair/scooter, no chance - We were so excited to visit , we mnew there were a few steps, but 7 steep steps, no. My Mum has a walker, and I have a scooter. I enquired about a disabled/easier entrance, and the answer was no. Apparently if you manage to get up the steps, it is disabled friendly. No solution or offer of help, so we left, disappointed. Surely, in this day and age, some sort of solution could be offered and not exclude less able people.
